Increasing clouds and very warm today with a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m.! Mostly cloudy and much cooler on Saturday with a chance of showers! Mostly sunny and continued cool on Sunday! Cooler than average temperatures much of next week with a chance of showers Monday night through the day on Wednesday!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Friday morning and it is milder than the last few mornings with temperatures ranging from 63 in Clifton down to 50 at Walpack and Pequest. Winds are mainly calm.

Today we will be very warm ahead of a cold front that will move through the area this evening. The morning will start off sunny, but we should see an increase in clouds this afternoon with a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m.

Much cooler on Saturday along with a continued chance of showers, it will become breezy with an onshore flow.

We should be mainly dry Saturday night through the day on Monday along with continued cool temperatures.

At this point, next week will have temperatures mainly below normal. A cold front passing through may touch off some showers Monday night into Tuesday. An upper level low will still give us a chance of showers on Wednesday.

TODAY – JUNE 2 – Increasing cloudiness and very warm with a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m., highs near 90.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, low in the low 60s.

SATURDAY – JUNE 3 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, breezy and much cooler with highs near 70.

SUNDAY – JUNE 4 – Mostly sunny, highs in the low 70s.

MONDAY – JUNE 5 – Mostly sunny, highs in the mid 70s, chance of showers at night.

TUESDAY – JUNE 6 – Mostly sunny with a chance of a shower, highs in the mid 70s.

WEDNESDAY – JUNE 7 – Partly sunny with a chance of a shower, high near 70.

THURSDAY – JUNE 8 – Mostly sunny, highs in the mid 70s.

MARINE FORECAST: TODAY – Variable winds less than 5 knots this morning becoming southerly to 10 knots this afternoon.

OUTLOOK: A small craft advisory has been posted effective between 8 a.m. Saturday morning through 6 a.m. Sunday morning; advisories expected to continue through Sunday; no advisories expected for Monday and Tuesday.

CLIFTON’S WEATHER SUMMARY FOR MAY 2023.

Temperatures for the month were near normal, the highest temperature was 89 on the 12th, the lowest temperature was 41 which was recorded on the 18th. Precipitation was well below normal with 1.43″ accumulating, which was the 4th driest May since my records began. Also May had the least amount of hours overcast skies since my records began.

CLIFTON’S WEATHER SUMMARY FOR THE SPRING MONTHS OF 2023.

This spring period was warmer than normal. Overall precipitation averaged above normal with 13.62″ recorded, the majority of the rainfall fell on the last couple of days in April.
