Sunny with much less humidity today! Beautiful September weather to continue Friday through at least the middle of next week!

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Thursday morning and temperatures range from 63 in Clifton down to 52 at High Point. Winds are light from the north. The air quality is good with an index of 38.

A cold front has moved to our east and high pressure over the Great Lakes will cause sunny skies today with seasonably mild temperatures and much less humidity. Finally we will have comfortable September weather after almost two weeks of heat and or humidity.

Dry and comfortable weather is expected to continue Friday through the weekend but we may see an increase in high clouds from Hurricane Lee that will move well to our east. Winds may be a little gusty Friday and Saturday especially over the coastal areas.

Mainly dry weather with near seasonable temperatures through the middle part of next week, the only slight chance of showers will be on Monday as a weak front passes through our area.

TODAY – SEP 14 – Sunny, highs in the upper 70s.

TONIGHT – Mostly clear, lows in the mid 50s.

FRIDAY – SEP 15 – Mostly sunny, highs in the low 70s.

SATURDAY – SEP 16 – Partly sunny and breezy, highs in the upper 70s.

SUNDAY – SEP 17 – Mostly sunny, highs near 80.

MONDAY – SEP 18 – Mostly sunny, highs in the upper 70s.

TUESDAY – SEP 19 – Mostly sunny, highs in the upper 70s.

WEDNESDAY – SEP 20 – Mostly sunny, highs in the upper 70s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect till 6 a.m. Saturday morning for northerly winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 8-13 feet. There is a high risk of dangerous rip currents today. Belmar’s ocean temperature is 75 degrees.

OUTLOOK: Advisories likely to continue through the day on Saturday; possible advisories Saturday night; no advisories expected for Sunday and Monday.

TROPICS: Hurricane Lee with top winds of 100 mph is expected to move well off our coast and should come ashore near the Maine and New Brunswick border this weekend.
