More rain today from the remnants of Ophelia but not as chilly or windy! Still some showers on Monday with continued cool temperatures! Mainly dry weather the rest of this week with below normal temperatures continuing!

Rain is falling over much of the area early on this Sunday morning and temperatures range from 58 in Clifton down to 51 at High Point. Winds are gusty out of the northeast. The air quality is good with an index of 26.

The remnants of Ophelia will slowly move north and will continue to give us periods of rain again today, winds will be a little lighter than yesterday and high temperatures should not be as chilly with highs in the mid 60s.

The remnants of Ophelia will then move off the Jersey coast on Monday and will still give us cloudy and cool conditions with showers.

Strong high pressure will then build into the area on Tuesday and be with us much of the rest of this week, temperatures will be below normal through Thursday and then near normal on Friday and Saturday.

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – SEP 24 – Showers with an isolated thunderstorm, rain may be heavy at times, highs in the mid 60s, Wind gusts to 25 mph.

TONIGHT – Cloudy with showers and isolated thunderstorms, low in the upper 50s.

MONDAY – SEP 25 – Cloudy with rain likely, highs in the low 60s.

TUESDAY – SEP 26 – Mostly cloudy in the morning then becoming partly sunny, highs in the low 60s.

WEDNESDAY – SEP 27 – Mostly sunny, highs in the upper 60s.

THURSDAY – SEP 28 – Partly sunny, highs in the upper 60s.

FRIDAY – SEP 29 – Mostly sunny, highs near 70.

SATURDAY – SEP 30 – Mostly sunny, highs in the low 70s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect for easterly winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 10 feet subsiding to 5 feet by this evening;

OUTLOOK: Small craft advisories likely to continue for Monday and Tuesday; advisories still possible on Wednesday.
