Skies are mostly cloudy to cloudy early on this Saturday morning and temperatures range from 50 in Clifton down to 42 at Basking Ridge, Pequest and Hackettstown. Winds are mainly calm. The air quality is good with an index of 34.

A low pressure system moving into our area will give us rain that should develop by late this morning and continue into early Sunday morning. Rainfall amounts will average 1/2 to 1 inch. Temperatures with the clouds and precipitation will only rise to the mid 50s.

We should see some clearing by late Sunday morning but it should remain mostly cloudy. High temperatures will be a few degrees higher than Saturday.

After a dry and cool Monday a weak disturbance will give us a chance of showers on Tuesday.

Fair weather Wednesday through Friday with a slight moderation in temperatures to near normal levels.

And guess what? More rain looks likely for next weekend.

OUTLOOK: A small craft advisory has been issued effective between 8 p.m. tonight until 4 a.m. Monday morning; no advisories expected Monday through Wednesday.
