Skies are cloudy early on this Saturday morning and there is some fog and drizzle falling in parts of the area. Temperatures are mild with readings ranging from 57 in Clifton down to 52 at High Point. Winds are mainly calm. The air quality is good with an index of 34..

Low pressure just off our coast will rapidly intensify as it moves to off the New England coast today. Showers from this system should end by noontime followed by a strong northwest flow of cooler and much drier air this afternoon. Wind gusts to 35 mph are possible so there will be plenty of blowing leaves around. We may see some sunshine by late this afternoon.

Sunday will be a mostly cloudy, breezy and cool day, there is a slight chance of some afternoon showers mainly inland.

A period of nice fall weather can be expected much if not all of next week with plenty of sunshine each day. The temperatures will start off cool with even some frost possible Monday night mainly inland, then rise to above normal Tuesday through Friday.

MARINE FORECAST: A gale warning has been posted effective between 2 p.m. this afternoon through 8 p.m. Sunday evening for westerly winds gusting to 35 knots, seas 3-6 feet.

OUTLOOK – Small craft advisories expected Sunday night through the day on Monday; no advisories expected Monday night through Thursday.
