Skies are cloudy early on this Saturday morning and some light showers are falling in parts of the area. Temperatures are unseasonably mild with readings ranging from 54 in Clifton down to 45 at High Point. Winds are mainly calm. The air quality is moderate with an index of 62.

A cold front is moving through the area and will be offshore later this morning. Skies will clear by late morning and it will be breezy with some wind gusts to 25 mph from the northwest. Temperatures will be steady or slight fall throughout the day.

High pressure will give us a sunny day with seasonable temperatures on Sunday,; a weak cold front will come through dry at night.

Monday will be cooler but continued dry.

A strong low pressure area will approach the area on Tuesday with rain developing mainly by evening, rain may be heavy at times through Wednesday with 1-2 inches expected.

At this time Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday should be dry, breezy and chilly, however the GFS model has another low pressure moving into the area on Thanksgiving which would give us rain but the other computer models have it remaining dry.

TODAY – NOV 18 – Clearing and becoming breezy, temperatures nearly steady in the mid 50s.

TONIGHT – Clear and cooler, lows in the mid 30s.

SUNDAY – NOV 19 – Sunny, highs in the mid 50s.

MONDAY – NOV 20 – Sunny, highs in the upper 40s.

TUESDAY – NOV 21 – Increasing cloudiness with rain developing by late in the day, highs in the upper 40s.

WEDNESDAY – NOV 22 – Cloudy with a chance of rain in the morning becoming partly sunny in the afternoon, highs in the mid 50s.

THANKSGIVING DAY – NOV 23 – Mostly sunny and breezy, highs in the upper 40s.

FRIDAY – NOV 24 – Mostly sunny, highs in the mid 40s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Sunday evening for northwest winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 3-6 feet.

OUTLOOK: No advisories expected for Monday; small craft advisories likely Tuesday and Wednesday with some gales possible.
