Skies are mainly clear early on this Sunday morning and temperatures are about 20 degrees cooler than this time yesterday with readings ranging from 36 in Clifton down to 22 at Walpack and Pequest. Winds are calm or light southwesterly. The air quality is good with an index of 40.

High pressure over the area will give us a southwest flow of seasonably mild air today and it will be breezy again with some gusts over 20 mph mainly in the afternoon

A cold front will come through dry this evening and Monday will be sunny but cooler with highs only in the 40s.

A strong frontal system will give us rain mainly from late Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning; rain may be heavy at times with rainfall amounts averaging 1-2 inches. The precipitation may start off as a mixture of snow and rain over the higher elevations well north and west of the area.

Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday will be dry with high temperatures a little below normal. Winds will be a little gusty on Thanksgiving.

Another low pressure area will give us a chance of rain on Saturday.

THANKSGIVING DAY – NOV 23 – Mostly sunny and breezy, highs near 50.

FRIDAY – NOV 24 – Mostly sunny, highs in the upper 40s.

SATURDAY – NOV 25 – Partly sunny with a chance of rain, highs in the upper 40s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Monday morning for northwest winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 3-6 feet.

OUTLOOK: Advisories possible on Monday; small craft advisories expected for Tuesday into Wednesday with possible gales; advisories still possible Thanksgiving Day and Friday.
