Skies are partly cloudy early on this Saturday morning and temperatures are cooler than the last few morning but still about 10 degrees above normal with readings ranging from 37 in Clifton down to 31 at Hackettstown. Winds are mainly from the west around 5-10 mph. The air quality is good with an index of 46.

A weak cold front will cross the area today associated with mostly cloudy skies with only a slight chance of an afternoon or evening sprinkle of snow flurry. West winds will be a little gusty this afternoon. Temperatures will be lower but still above normal.

Mainly dry weather with slightly above normal temperatures again on Sunday with mostly sunny skies and light winds. At midnight expect dry conditions for the ball drop with temperatures in the 30s.

New Year’s Day looks to be partly sunny with again slightly above normal temperatures.

Dry weather Tuesday and Wednesday as high pressure will be in our area.

A coastal storm may give us rain on Thursday but latest models have the storm mainly staying well south and east of our area.

Dry and somewhat colder weather for Friday as temperatures actually fall to near normal.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. this evening for westerly winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 3-5 feet.
