Good morning everyone!

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR JANUARY 21ST:

AVERAGE HIGH: 36 AVERAGE LOW: 21

RECORD HIGH: 61 – 2006 RECORD LOW: -8 – 1985

Since I started records in 1973, today January 21st, has the coldest average temperature of the year with highs averaging 32.9 degrees and the average low is 18.1 degrees.

High pressure centered over the Midwest will give us a brisk northwest flow of cold air, high temperatures today will be a couple of degrees higher than yesterday but will still be below freezing. Winds will diminish by this evening.

The high pressure will move off the coast on Monday and we will have a return flow of milder air along with an increase in clouds.

Unsettled weather Tuesday through Friday as a series of low pressures move through our area, which will cause periods of rain throughout this period; some of the precipitation may be mixed with snow or freezing rain well inland Tuesday night. High temperatures should be in the low 40s Tuesday and Wednesday and rise to the 50s by Friday.
