Mostly cloudy and cool today with much less wind but still a chance of showers! Mostly cloudy again on Friday with only a slight chance of a shower! Dry weather expected for the weekend through the middle of next week with a slow moderation in temperatures!

Skies are cloudy early on this Thursday morning and some rain continue to fall in parts of the area with snow being reported across the higher elevations to our north and west. Temperatures range from 35 in Clifton down to 31 at High Point and Vernon. Winds have diminished but still a little gusty out of the northwest. The air quality is moderate with an index of 52.

The coastal storm that gave us the heavy rain and strong winds yesterday is moving off the New England coast as an upper level low is over the mid-west. Today will remain mostly cloudy with a chance of mainly light showers through this evening. Winds will be much lighter but still gust to 20-25 mph at times.

The upper level low will slowly move through the area on Friday, skies will continue to be mostly cloudy with only a slight chance of a shower, Temperatures both today and on Friday will be below normal.

Finally an extended period of dry weather Saturday through the middle of next week. Temperatures will be below normal on Saturday, near normal on Sunday then above normal Monday through Wednesday.

The weather for the solar eclipse still looks good with only some broken high clouds possible.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, lows in the mid 30s.

FRIDAY – APRIL 5 – Partly sunny in the morning then become mostly cloudy in the afternoon, highs near 50.

SATURDAY – APRIL 6 – Partly sunny, highs in the low 50s.

SUNDAY – APRIL 7 – Mostly sunny, highs in the mid 50s.

MONDAY – APRIL 8 – Mostly sunny, highs in the low 60s.

TUESDAY – APRIL 9 – Mostly sunny, highs in the upper 60s.

WEDNESDAY – APRIL 10 – Partly sunny, highs near 60.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. this evening for northerly winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 7-12 feet.

OUTLOOK: Small craft advisories possibly continuing Friday and Saturday; no advisories expected for Sunday and Monday.
