Skies are cloudy early on this Thursday morning and there is some drizzle or light rain falling over parts of the area. Temperatures range from 45 in Clifton down to 40 at High Point. Winds are a little brisk out of the northeast. The air quality is good with an index of 36.

A frontal system with a warm front to our south will give us cloudy skies today with a chance of mainly light rain and drizzle that should end by later this afternoon. With the clouds and an onshore wind, high temperatures will struggle to reach the 50 degree mark.

Not as cool on Friday as a weak high pressure moves into the area, skies will still be mostly cloudy. A weak cold front will give us a chance of showers in the evening.

Mainly dry weather for the weekend with partly to mostly sunny skies both days, Saturday will be mild but a little cooler on Sunday.

Dry weather should continue Monday into the day on Tuesday with near seasonable temperatures. Another frontal system may cause some showers Tuesday night into Wednesday.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Friday evening for easterly winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 5-8 feet.
