Skies are clear early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 53 in Clifton down to 41 at Walpack and Sandyston. Winds are light from the northwest.

High pressure will dominate our weather today with plenty of sunshine this morning with an increase in clouds this afternoon, high temperatures will be a few degrees lower than yesterday but with less wind.

A disturbance approaching from the west will cause showers from late tonight through Thursday morning followed by late clearing. Temperatures will continue to be near seasonable levels.

Friday will be warmer with an increase in humidity as a warm front moves to our north, skies will be mostly sunny.

Hot weather is expected for the weekend with highs in the 90s on Saturday and near 90 on Sunday. A cold front will likely cause some showers and thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and evening.

At this point early next week we will have cooler temperatures and it should remain mainly dry but a couple of disturbances will cause a slight chance of some showers.

TONIGHT – Cloudy with rain mainly after 2 a.m., low in the mid 50s.

THURSDAY – MAY 19 – Rain before 8 a.m. with a chance of showers the rest of the morning, partial clearing in the afternoon, high in the mid 70s.

FRIDAY – MAY 20 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 80s.

SATURDAY – MAY 21 – Mostly sunny, hot and humid, high in the low 90s.

SUNDAY – MAY 22 – Partly sunny, hot and humid with showers and thunderstorms likely late in the afternoon into the evening, high near 90.

MONDAY – MAY 23 – Partly sunny, high in the low 70s.

TUESDAY – MAY 24 – Partly sunny, high near 70.

MARINE FORECAST: TODAY – Northwest wind to 10 knots, seas 2 feet.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Thursday and Friday; possible small craft advisories Saturday and Sunday.
