We have cloudy skies early on this Friday morning and temperatures are mild with readings ranging from the mid 40s in Clifton down to around 40 further inland, winds are light southwesterly.

Today a cold front will be crossing the area this afternoon accompanied by some showers, it will be mild ahead of the front with temperatures reaching the 50s. Behind the front a brisk northwest flow of cooler air will develop for late this afternoon into tonight with clearing skies.

Saturday weak high pressure will briefly move into the area, it will be cooler, skies will be partly sunny in the morning but we should see an increase in clouds in the afternoon as low pressure from the southwest approaches.

Rain is likely mainly from Saturday night into Sunday morning, the precipitation may start off as freezing rain or sleet in the higher elevations well to our north and west. Temperatures will be seasonably cool.

Dry weather with seasonably mild temperatures Monday and Tuesday as high pressure builds into our area.

A cold front may cause some showers on Wednesday along with mild temperatures.

Thanksgiving should be dry with cooler temperatures but not nearly as cold as last year when the high temperatures were only in the 20s.

Saturday will be mainly dry and cool but a low pressure system will likely give our area rain beginning around midnight.

Sunday looks to be a cool day with most of the steady rain falling in the morning but some showers may persist in the afternoon.

Low pressure will move to the Canadian Maritime region while high pressure builds into our area from the midwest which will cause a brisk northwest flow of seasonably cool air, skies will remain mostly cloudy.

As the high pressure builds closer to our area Thursday will have more sunshine, lighter winds and milder temperatures.

Friday will be mild with only a low chance of a shower as a weak cold front crosses the area in the afternoon.

Cooler weather over the weekend and we have a good chance of rain late Saturday into Sunday morning, rainfall amounts of half to one inch are possible.

Fair weather early next week with near seasonable temperatures.

The coastal low that produced the rain is moving northeast of our area as a weak high pressure will build into our area, we should see some partial sunshine today. Temperatures will not be as chilly as the last few days with highs reaching to near 50 degrees, winds will be light.

High pressure will then dominate our weather Wednesday and Thursday, Wednesday will be cool but Thursday will be a little milder.

Friday will be the mildest day of the week with highs well up into the 50s but a cold front may give us some showers.

At this point the upcoming weekend will be mainly dry but a disturbance may touch off some showers Saturday afternoon and evening, temperatures will be slightly below normal.

A coastal low off the New Jersey coast will cause cloudy skies today with a chance of some light rain during the day, some of this precipitation may be in the frozen form this morning across the higher elevations of northwest New Jersey and the Poconos. Temperatures will still be chilly and winds will still be a little gusty. Rain is likely tonight.

Clearing and not as cold on Tuesday.

Dry weather should continue Wednesday and Thursday with near normal temperatures.
