Skies are mostly clear early on this Monday morning and temperatures range from the low 30s in the Clifton area to the low 20s further inland, there is a light northwest wind.

Spring begins at 6:29 a.m. this morning and it will be a rather nice day with seasonably mild temperatures as high pressure builds into the area.

There is a chance of an early morning shower on Tuesday followed by sunshine by the afternoon, temperatures will be mild ahead of a strong cold front that will come through at night.

A brief surge of unseasonably cold conditions Wednesday and Thursday as high pressure builds from Canada, Wednesday will be windy with diminishing winds for Thursday.

A warm front approaches from the southwest on Friday, there is a slight chance of a shower at night.

Quite mild on Saturday but a front will sag south of the area at night with a good chance of rain from Saturday night into Sunday.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy with a chance of a shower after 3 a.m., low near 40.

TUESDAY – MAR 21 – Chance of a shower before 9 a.m. then becoming partly cloudy, high in the mid 50s.

SUNDAY MARCH 19, 2017  5:50 A.M.

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Sunday morning and temperatures range from the mid 30s in the Clifton area to the upper 20s further inland, winds are from the north averaging around 10 mph.

We will have mostly sunny skies today after early morning cloudiness, high temperatures will reach the low 40s which is about 10 degrees below normal.  Low pressure that gave us the light snow yesterday is moving offshore as high pressure builds in from the west.

Most of this upcoming week will be dry, temperatures will be near normal Monday and Tuesday with colder than normal temperatures Wednesday and Thursday, the next chance of precipitation will be Friday night into Saturday as a warm front crosses the area, temperatures by Saturday may rise into the 60s.   With the dry conditions and the March sun we should have a nice slow melting of the ice and snow.

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Saturday morning and there is a wide range of temperatures ranging from around 30 in the Clifton area to some mid teens in some inland valleys, winds are mainly calm.

Low pressure over the Great Lakes will move off the coast as it intensifies, snow mixed with rain will develop this morning and continue this afternoon and at this time little or no accumulation is expected during the day, however colder air will cause snow tonight but only an inch or two can be expected.

Dry weather will return for Sunday along with seasonably cool temperatures.

Most of the upcoming should be dry, temperatures near normal Monday and Tuesday with colder temperatures for Wednesday and Thursday then milder on Friday.

TODAY – MAR 18 – Snow and rain developing this morning, high near 40, little or no accumulation expected.

TONIGHT – Cloudy with light snow mainly before 4 a.m., low in the low 30s, accumulations 1-2 inches.

FRIDAY  MARCH 17, 2017  6:06 A.M.

We have mostly clear skies early on this Friday morning and temperatures are a few degrees warmer than at this time yesterday ranging from the upper 20s in the Clifton area to the low 20s further inland, there is a light westerly wind.

Today we will have plenty of sunshine, high temperatures will be in the low 40s which is still 10 degrees below normal, wind will be a little gusty but not as windy as the last few days.

An area of low pressure will move toward our area from the Great Lakes and intensify off the coast on Saturday night, although it won’t be as strong as Tuesday’s storm we will still have some accumulating snow.  Light snow should begin before daybreak on Saturday and possibly mixing with rain in the afternoon before changing back to snow Saturday night and then end Sunday morning, accumulations will average 2-4 inches with some higher amounts possible.

Clearing on Sunday with fair weather extending into Monday, temperatures will moderate but still be a few degrees below normal.

Tuesday we will have a cold front move through the area giving us a chance of a shower followed by colder weather again for Wednesday and Thursday with clearing skies.

THURSDAY  MARCH 16, 2017   5:58 A.M.

Skies are mostly clear early on this Thursday morning and temperatures range from the low 20s in the Clifton area to the mid teens further inland, winds are from the west averaging 5-10 mph.

Today we will see a little more sunshine and temperatures will be a couple degrees higher than on Wednesday but winds will still be gusty as low pressure weakens over the Canadian Maritime region and high pressure builds from the Tennessee valley.

Slightly milder again on Friday along with sunny skies and there will be less wind as the low pressure over the Canadian Maritimes moves further away.

A disturbance moving in from the west will likely cause snow and rain on Saturday, the precipitation should start as snow before daybreak and then change to rain by noon but may change back to snow Saturday evening, at the present time accumulations should be in the 1-2 inch range with 3-4 inches possible over the Hudson Valley.

Dry weather for Sunday and Monday followed by a chance of showers on Tuesday as a weak cold front moves through.  Temperatures will moderate but still be below normal for most of next week.
