Good morning everyone!

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Friday morning and temperatures range from 66 in Clifton down to 62 at Hackettstown and Wantage. Winds are light and variable. The air quality is moderate with an index of 52.

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR AUGUST 28TH:

AVERAGE HIGH: 81 AVERAGE LOW: 62

RECORD HIGH: 98 – 1973 RECORD LOW: 44 – 1986

YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 75 LOW 66 PRECIPITATION: .55″

Yesterday here at my station in Clifton we only received .55″ of rainfall while parts of central New Jersey had 4-5 inches which caused flash flooding.

We will have much quieter weather today but it will remain humid. Skies will be partly sunny with only a low chance of a shower as a cold front crosses our area this afternoon.

Saturday we will have high pressure building over the area and the humidity will be much lower with dew points in the 50s. Skies will be sunny with seasonably warm temperatures.

As the high pressure moves off the coast on Sunday we will have a return southwesterly flow of warm and more humid air as dew points rise in the 60s.

Next week we will still have the high pressure off the coast and we will have mainly a southwest flow of warm and humid air with most dew points in the upper 60s to near 70. The best chance of showers will be from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday night.
