Skies are clear at daybreak this morning and temperatures range from around 30 degrees in the Clifton area to the 20s further inland, winds are light.

Today we will enjoy plenty of sunshine, temperatures will be seasonably cool topping off in the low 40s.

Clouds will return on Friday with rain developing after 3pm and continuing at night, some of this precipitation may begin as sleet and freezing rain well inland across the Poconos and far northwest New Jersey.

Saturday will be mild but rain most of the day and night with possibly 1-2 inches falling.

Clearing and windy on Sunday with cooler temperatures.

Unsettled weather returns for Monday and Tuesday with again a chance of rain.

It is a cloudy and foggy start to this Wednesday morning with temperatures mainly in the upper 30s, winds are light and there are some drizzle and light rain in the area.

Today will be a mild day but overcast skies will persist along with some drizzle and light rain, temperatures will rise to near the 50 degree mark.

Thursday will be dry with some sunshine but with cooler temperatures.

We will then have an extended period of cloudiness with rain chances from Friday evening through at least the early part of next week.  Most of the precipitation during this  period should fall as rain with only the far inland suburbs will have chances of frozen precipitation..

Skies are mainly cloudy early this morning and temperatures mostly in the low 30s, winds are northerly around 10 mph.

We will stay cloudy today with precipitation beginning as a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain this afternoon and continuing this evening, little or no accumulations are expected in the Clifton area but up to an inch of the mixed precipitation my accumulate inland.  The precipitation will change to all rain after midnight as temperatures rise.

We will have rain and drizzle mainly in the morning on Wednesday along with milder temperatures.

Dry with seasonable temperatures on Thursday.

We then enter a period of unsettle weather from Friday afternoon till early next week with chances of precipitation each day, temperatures will be a little milder so most if not all the precipitation will fall as rain.

OUTLOOK – Mainly sub-advisory level conditions through the weekend although advisories may be needed for higher seas on the ocean on Saturday.

CLIMATE – November 2014 was 2.7 degrees below normal which was the coldest November since 1996.  Precipitation was just close to normal with just over 4 inches recorded.  Snowfall was 3 inches for the month, November on average gets less than 1 inch of snow.

LONG RANGE OUTLOOK – It appears that the first half of December will be milder than normal.

Skies are mainly cloudy and it is mild with early morning temperatures around 50 in the Clifton area but ranges down to the mid 30s further inland where there is still a heavier snowpack on the ground.

A cold front will be crossing the area this afternoon only accompanied by a slight chance of sprinkles, ahead of the front it will be mild with temperatures reaching the upper 50s despite limited sunshine.   Colder tonight behind the front as winds become northerly as high pressure builds into the area.

Tuesday will be chilly and cloudy and as the high moves offshore a front to our south will cause some light precipitation starting off as snow and sleet and changing to rain as warmer air moves in late at night, accumulations should will be less than 1/2 of an inch in the Clifton area to an inch or two further inland.

A warm front will move to our north and Wednesday will be a milder day but still with considerable cloudiness.

Dry and seasonably chilly Thursday and most of Friday but we may have some mixed precipitation on Friday night.

Lots of clouds with a chance of rain over the weekend,  temperatures will average slightly above normal.

We have mostly cloudy skies at daybreak this morning with temperatures almost 20 degrees higher than this time yesterday morning ranging from around 40 in the Clifton area to some upper 20 further inland where there is a heavier snow pack, winds are light.

A warm front is moving through the area this morning and today will be noticeably warmer than the last few days with temperatures rising into the 50s despite considerable cloudiness.  Tonight will be cloudy and mild with a slight chance of sprinkles.

A cold front will cross the area on Monday but it still will be mild during the day but getting colder at night.

Tuesday will be colder as high pressure builds into the area but the cold will be short lived as a warm front will be approaching giving the area a chance of light rain or snow at night.

Mild with a chance of light rain on Wednesday.

Dry weather on Thursday with seasonably temperatures.

A weak disturbance will cause considerable cloudiness on Friday with a chance of rain or snow.

Continued mostly cloudy to start next weekend with a chance of light rain on Saturday.
