Skies are mostly clear early on this Presidents Day morning and it is around 5-10 degrees warmer than this time yesterday with readings at 5 a.m. range from 26 in Clifton down to 19 at Pequest. Winds are calm or light southwesterly.

Today will be milder with plenty of sunshine as high pressure offshore will give us a southwesterly flow of air. High temperatures will reach the 50s but gusty wind in the afternoon will make it feel slightly cooler.

A storm system will be moving into our area on Tuesday with rain mainly from late afternoon into early Wednesday morning.

Wednesday will start off cloudy then we will have gradual clearing and becoming quite mild with highs in the 60s. A cold front will cross the area late in the day.

Another storm system will affect our area Thursday night into Friday and this time colder air will be in the area so some of the precipitation will be in the form of snow and sleet that should change to rain. Details of this storm will be more clear after the first storm moves away. So again depending on the track of the storm will determine how much frozen precipitation falls in our area.

At this point the weekend looks dry but with below normal temperatures.

After yesterday’s wind and brief snow squall today we will have much quieter weather with mostly sunny skies and light winds, high will be mainly in the upper 30s which is slightly below normal.

Tomorrow will be a very pleasant day with plenty of sunshine along with milder temperatures.

A storm system will give us rain mainly Tuesday afternoon and at night, temperatures will continue to be mild!

Wednesday will start off cloudy then becoming mostly sunny and very mild with highs reaching the 60s, a cold front will cross the area late in the day.

Another disturbance will give us precipitation Thursday afternoon through Friday and with colder air some of the precipitation will fall as snow or sleet.

Dry and cold weather as we head into next weekend.

Today we will see an increase in cloudiness as a cold front approaches our area. The front will move through this afternoon possibly accompanied by a snow squall, if the squall does occur it will only last about 15 minutes but look like a blizzard which may give us a dusting of snow on the ground. Also it will become very windy this afternoon and tonight with some gusts over 45 mph and a wind advisory is in effect.

Sunday will be sunny and cold but with much less wind than today as the high pressure will be nearly over the region.

Presidents Day looks to be the nicest day of next week with plenty of sunshine and milder temperatures.

Rain is expected Tuesday afternoon and night with continued mild temperatures.

Wednesday will be quite mild despite having mostly cloudy skies, a cold front will cross the area in the afternoon and at night.

A frontal system will affect our area Thursday into Friday, it will be colder which may give us some wintery precipitation.

Showers are falling over much of the area early on this Friday morning and it is unseasonably mild with temperatures at 5 a.m. ranging from 62 in Clifton down to 55 at High Point, winds are gusting to near 40 mph from the southwest.

A strong cold front will cross the area around sunrise with strong southwest winds becoming northwest gusting at times over 40 mph. Showers will end also around daybreak with much colder air moving into the area, temperatures that are in the low 60s now will fall to the mid 30s by sunset. Skies will become mostly sunny by this afternoon.

Saturday we will see some increasing cloudiness with a chance of snow showers in the afternoon as a weak cold front crosses the area, winds will again gust to near 40 mph.

Sunday will be a sunny and cold day with less wind.

Milder Monday through Wednesday and showers are expected from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning.

Cooler on Thursday with a low chance of light snow or rain.

Strong south to southwest wind today will boost temperatures in the low 60s despite plenty of clouds.

A strong cold front will approach our area tonight and move off the coast early Friday morning. Rain from this system will fall from around 9 p.m. tonight though 7 a.m. tomorrow morning with about 3/4 of an inch likely. Winds will become even stronger with gusts above 45 mph and a wind advisory is in effect.

We should see clearing during the day on Friday and it will become colder with brisk northwest winds. Temperatures in the upper 50s in the early a.m. will drop to the mid to upper 30s by sunset.

Chilly and windy weather for the weekend and it will be mainly dry but there is a slight chance of flurries during the day on Saturday as a weak cold front crosses our area.

Milder weather returns by Monday with a chance of showers Tuesday into Wednesday.
