Skies across the area are mostly clear and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 29 in Clifton down to 24 at High Point. Winds are light from the northwest. There may be some icy patches in some areas as some of the light precipitation last night froze as temperatures fell below freezing overnight.

High pressure will be in control of our weather today and we will start off mostly sunny but as the high moves offshore we should see some increasing cloudiness by this afternoon. Temperatures will be chilly with highs only climbing to around 40 degrees.

A southerly flow will develop on Friday and skies should be partly sunny with high temperatures around 10 degrees warmer than today.

Record high temperatures expected on Saturday as a strong southerly flow develops as a warm front moves to our north and a cold front approaches from the west. Showers are likely.

Sunday will be cooler but still slightly above normal, skies will be sunny with brisk winds in the morning diminishing in the afternoon.

Much if not all of next week should be dry and mild.

Today will be a cloudy and cool day as a weak low pressure moves to our south and offshore. We should stay dry except for a couple of flurries mainly to our north and west.

Thursday will be dry and continued chilly as weak high pressure moves into the area.

Friday will be mostly cloudy and milder.

A warm front will pass to our north on Saturday and we will have unseasonably mild temperatures with some record highs possible as temperatures rise to well up into the 60s. A cold front will pass through at night with showers likely.

Mostly sunny and cooler on Sunday but high temperatures will still be a couple of degrees above normal.

At this point it looks like next week will be mainly dry and mild.

Today will be much cooler but we should have partly sunny skies and winds will diminish as high pressure builds into our area, highs will be around 20 degrees cooler than on Monday.

It now appears that the low pressure that was expected to give us some snowfall will be too far to our south and we will only have a low chance of light snow or flurries on Wednesday with most areas staying dry.

High pressure will give us a mostly sunny and chilly day on Thursday.

Unsettled weather with milder temperatures Friday through the weekend and there will be a chance of rain with the best chance being on Saturday. High temperatures on Saturday will again be in the 60s. Somewhat cooler on Sunday but still above normal.

Looking further ahead, no frigid cold air is in sight in fact much of next week high temperatures should be in the 50s.

A warm front is moving to our north this morning accompanied by some showers that will be moving away from the area shortly. We should have a break in the precipitation during much of the day with a strong southerly flow of quite mild air developing. Temperatures will reach the 60s and winds will gust to near 35 mph. The cold front associated with this system will move offshore tonight accompanied by showers this evening and followed by brisk northwest flow of much cooler air.

Tuesday will be a mostly sunny day but it will be chilly with highs mainly in the low 40s.

There is a chance of light snow on Wednesday but some of the computer models have no precipitation in our area. Right now some light snow is possible with maybe just a coating of accumulation.

Mainly unsettled weather late in the week into the weekend but no big storms are expected. Some rain showers are possible Friday morning. Saturday will be similar as today’s weather with a warm front followed by a cold front, highs may reach the 60s. Sunday will be cooler with a chance of snow or rain showers.

High pressure will be moving off the coast and we should see a mix of clouds and sun today along with light winds and cool temperates.

Showers are likely on Monday as a warm front will move to our north in the morning and then a cold front will push through in the evening. Skies will be mostly cloudy and temperatures will rise into the 60s. Winds will be gusty out of southwest switching to northwest after the front passes our area. Rainfall amounts will be light mainly less than 1/4″.

High pressure will then move into our area on Tuesday giving us mostly sunny skies but it will be chilly with highs mainly only in the low 40s.

A weak storm system will affect our area on Wednesday which will likely give us some light snow in the morning mixing with and changing to rain in the afternoon. Accumulations look to be minor with only a coating of snow in the Clifton area but a couple of inches are possible to our north and west.

Dry weather along with cool temperatures Thursday and Friday.

A frontal system may give us some precipitation on Saturday but it should fall as rain as high temperatures rise into the 50s.
