Skies have become cloudy early on this Saturday morning and temperatures range from the low 50s in the Clifton area to the low 40s further inland, winds are nearly calm.

Today we will have considerable cloudiness as a cold front approaches the area and some high clouds filter north from Hurricane Matthew.  Some rain will develop this afternoon and continue into Sunday morning as some moisture from Matthew moves up along the coast ahead of the cold front.

We should see some clearing Sunday afternoon and it will become breezy and cooler.

Mainly dry next week with seasonably cool temperatures.

OUTLOOK – Gale warnings from 6 a.m. till 8 p.m. on Sunday.  Small craft advisories expected Monday through Wednesday.

TROPICS:  Hurricane Matthew is just off the South Carolina coast and will move along the coast reaching the Wilmington, North Carolina area and then move out to seas, expect torrential rain, high winds and dangerous storm surge in those areas, the storm will then move offshore and weaken.  Some of the moisture from the storm may affect the New Jersey coastal areas early Sunday.

Today will be a pleasant fall day with plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the 70s.

A cold front will cross the area on Saturday evening preceded by a chance of showers.

Cooler and dry weather will follow the front on Sunday as high pressure builds into the area.

TROPICS:  Hurricane Matthew is moving parallel to the Central Florida coast this morning, top winds are 120 mph making this a category 3 hurricane, Matthew’s eye is expected to remain just offshore as it moves northward toward the South Carolina coast and then move further offshore and then is expected to weaken.

High pressure will be in control of our weather today and tomorrow with mostly sunny days and temperatures in the mild 70s.

A cold front will cross the area Saturday night giving us a chance of showers Saturday afternoon and evening, temperatures will continue to be mild on Saturday but turn cooler on Sunday.

High pressure will then build into the area Monday and be with us through Wednesday, temperatures will start off below normal but rise to near normal by Wednesday.

TROPICS:   Dangerous hurricane Matthew has intensified just south of Nassau in  the Bahamas with top winds up to 125 mph, Matthew is expected to  intensify further as it moves through the northwestern Bahamas and then toward the Florida’s east coast by tonight, the storm is then expected to parallel the east coast of Florida reaching the South Carolina coast by Saturday night and then move further offshore.  A hurricane of this magnitude has never affected the entire east coast of Florida in recorded history.  It is very difficult to forecast if and where the eye of the storm will be parallel to the coast, a track offshore will lessen the impacts but if the eye moves just inland it will cause major destruction to those areas.

Skies are mostly clear early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures range from the low 50s in the Clifton area to the upper 40s further inland, winds are light. This is my last day in Barbados and it is also mostly clear with the temperature around a warm 80 degrees.

High pressure will build into the Clifton area today providing very pleasant fall conditions through Friday with mostly sunny skies and mild temperatures.

Hurricane Matthew is now expected to stay well south of our area so the weekend weather looks to be much better than it was indicated yesterday. A weak trough is expected to only give us a low chance of showers Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning.

High pressure will then build into the area for early next week providing our area with mostly fair conditions with seasonably cool temperatures.

TROPICS – Dangerous Hurricane Matthew is expected to reach the Bahamas today and then slowly approach the Florida coast by Friday and move parallel to the coast to South Carolina over the weekend, then the storm will move out in the Atlantic and do a loop offshore possibly moving south and effect the Bahamas again next week.

Skies are cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures range from around 60 in the Clifton area to the low 50s further inland, there are some showers in parts of the region and winds are light easterly.

After some possible early showers we should see partial clearing in the afternoon temperatures should be a little cooler than on Monday.

High pressure then will be in control of our weather Wednesday through Friday with plenty of sunshine each day with mild temperatures.

Our weekend weather will depend on the future track of Hurricane Matthew, most of the computer models have the storm just off our coast which would give our area torrential rain mainly falling from late Saturday into Sunday morning along with gusty winds while the European model has the storm well to our east which would minimize the affect in our area.

After the storm passes we should have clearing skies with cool temperatures early next week.

OUTLOOK – Small craft advisories likely through Friday, conditions may worsen on Saturday due to the approach of Hurricane Matthew.

TROPICS – Dangerous Hurricane Matthew is now approaching the Haitian coast giving that area devastating rains, Matthew is then expected to cross the tip of eastern Cuba then move into the Bahamas.  The track of the storm will then take it just off the Florida coast and up along the southeast coast to just off the Outer Banks of North Carolina. After that the models are not in agreement on our close it will come to the northeast coast.
