Skies are mostly clear early on this Friday morning and temperatures range from the low 40s here in Clifton to some low 30s in the outlying suburbs, winds are from the west 5-10 mph.

Today will start off sunny but we should see an increase of clouds this afternoon with a chance of showers late this afternoon and early this evening, there will be a brisk westerly wind. A cold front will cross the area tonight followed by colder air,

Saturday will feature plenty of sunshine but temperatures will be chilly with highs only in the 40s.

Looking at the latest computer models it appears that the European model which was showing a quite significant snowstorm in our area now has the storm further east more like the GFS has been indicating which would give us mainly lighter snowfall amounts falling mostly Sunday afternoon into Sunday night, so as it stands now we could expect about a 2-4 inches of snow.

The snow should end early on Monday morning followed by clearing with chilly temperatures.

Mainly dry Tuesday through Thursday with a warming trend and we could see temperatures reach near 70 degrees by Thursday.

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – Increasing cloudiness with a chance of a shower after 4 p.m. high near 60.

TONIGHT – Chance of a shower before 8 p.m. followed by clearing, colder with lows in the low 30s.

SATURDAY – Sunny and cool, high in the mid 40s.

SUNDAY – Snow developing mostly afternoon and continuing into Sunday night, high in the mid 30s, total acculumation 2-4 inches.

MONDAY – Chance of snow before 9 a.m. followed by clearing, high in the low 40s.

TUESDAY – Sunny, high in the mid 40s.

WEDNESDAY – Partly sunny, high in the upper 50s.

THURSDAY – Partly sunny, high in the mid 60s.

MARINE FORECAST:  Small craft advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. this morning till 6 a.m. on Saturday for west winds to 25 knots, seas 2-4 feet.

OUTLOOK – At least small craft advisories extending through Tuesday with possible gale force winds with the coastal storm Saturday night into Monday.

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this St. Patrick’s Day and temperatures range from the mid 40s here in Clifton to around 40 inland, winds are light.

Today will be a mostly cloudy day with a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, some of these storms may be accompanied by gusty winds and small hail.

Not as mild on Friday with a chance of showers as a cold front approaches the area.

Colder air moves in for the weekend, Saturday will be dry but a low pressure system is expected to develop along the southeast coast and intensify as it moves up the coast, the track of this system is still not certain with the GFS model only brushing us with some light precipitation while the European is stronger and closer to the coast which would cause a significant snowstorm for our area. If you read my post from March 10th when we were having incredible record warmth that I would not be surprised if we saw some snow around the first day of spring now it looks like now it has a very excellent chance of happening.

Below normal temperatures with dry conditions Monday and Tuesday with temperatures rebounding to above normal levels Wednesday through the end of next week.

Today we will have partly sunny skies this morning with a showers likely this afternoon and evening, it will be mild with highs reaching the low 60s.

A cold front approaching the area on St. Patrick’s Day will give us a chance of mainly afternoon showers and possibly a thunderstorm, some of these storms may be accompanied by gusty winds and small hail, it will still be mild with highs in the 60s.

Cooler on Friday with a mix of sun and clouds.

Even cooler over the weekend, Saturday will be sunny but there is a chance of rain Sunday afternoon and night with a mix snow and rain inland, however the latest models mostly have the storm well out to sea to significantly affect our area.

Chance of rain or snow on Monday with dry weather on Tuesday, temperatures will continue cool with most highs in the 40s and overnight lows in the 20s.

This morning we will have some lingering drizzle followed by some breaks in the clouds this afternoon, temperatures will be milder than yesterday with diminishing winds.

Considerable cloudiness tomorrow and on St. Patrick’s Day with a chance of afternoon showers both days, temperatures will be mild.

Even cooler over the weekend, Saturday will be sunny but a storm system may affect the area late Sunday into early Monday that may give us some rain along the coast and snow inland, too early for details as some computer models now taking the storm well out to sea, plenty of time to track this storm and its possible effect if any to our area so stay tuned.

We have some light rain falling early on this Monday morning with temperature across the area mainly in the low to mid 40s, winds are from the northeast averaging 5-10 mph.

Today will be a cloudy and dreary day with periods of rain, temperatures will be chilly and remain in the mid 40s and with a rather brisk wind it will feel colder.

Tomorrow we will have a chance of lingering drizzle or light rain in the morning then partial clearing in the afternoon with milder temperatures.

Wednesday looks to be the nicest day of the upcoming week with plenty of sunshine and mild temperatures.

A cold front moving through the area may touch off some showers on St. Patrick’s Day.

Dry with seasonable temperatures Friday and Saturday.  A stronger low pressure system will give us a good chance of rain on Sunday.
