Skies are mostly clear at daybreak this morning, temperatures are in the upper teens in the Clifton area with lower teens further inland with some single digits reported in spots of Northwestern New Jersey.

Today will be sunny and cold with highs about 10 degrees below normal for this time of year.

The weekend will start off dry and cold along with an increase of clouds.

Some small disturbances may give us some light snow or flurries on Sunday and again on Monday,  possible accumulations are for a coating to an inch on both days, far cry from the 30″ that some weather people said at the beginning of the week.

Cold weather will persist into the middle of next week with the next chance of a storm around Thursday, still plenty time to watch this situation and if and how it will affect our area.

Skies are mostly cloudy at daybreak and temperatures have fallen into the teens, there is plenty of black ice on untreated roads and sidewalks so be careful when heading out this morning.

Today and tomorrow will be dry with rather cold temperatures.

Still dry and cold on Saturday.

Chances of a major snowstorm on Sunday has greatly diminished, we may have some light snow that could give us some minor accumulations but nowhere near the dire forecasts of 30 inches that spread around social media the last few days.

Cold weather will continue into next week and there is a chance of another snowstorm around Wednesday.

In the Clifton area at daybreak the temperatures are in the upper 20s.  After having heavy snow for a couple of hours early this morning the precipitation as changed to a mixture of sleet and freezing rain..  Snow accumulations here is about 4 inches but more up to 7 inches have fallen across extreme Northern New Jersey with just plain rain across Southern New Jersey.

The mixture of sleet and freezing rain will continue throughout the day tapering off to freezing drizzle later in the day and evening.  Ice accumulations up to 1/2″ is possible.

Dry and cold weather for Thursday into Saturday.

The well advertized snow storm for the weekend is still possible but the latest computer models have two weaker storms to move off the coast and not give us a significant snowstorm but there is still a chance of the storms merging which would give our area heavier snow. Timing of the snow would be from around mid day on Sunday till early Monday morning.

Another storm is possible around Valentine’s Day.

Tonight – Chance of freezing drizzle in the evening then becoming mostly cloudy, low in the low 20s.

Cold an

Skies are mostly clear at daybreak and temperatures have fallen into the teens in the Clifton area to some single digits inland.  Yesterday we received 8 inches of snow.

Today will be dry during the day with increasing cloudiness late in the day, temperatures will be seasonably cold.

Snow will develop around midnight tonight and likely mix or change to sleet and freezing rain, very difficult to pin down accumulations but at this time it appears in our area we will have at least 6 inches of snow followed by 1/4″ of ice so tomorrow morning’s commute will be quite hazardous.

Fair and cold weather Thursday and Friday.

Still another storm is expected to develop late in the weekend into Monday, still too early for details on how much snow but it could be significant.

And looking even further ahead we may have to deal with another winter storm around Valentine’s Day…  Sick of winter yet????

After having a very pleasant day yesterday for the Super Bowl with temperatures in the 50s, winter weather has returned.  Snow has moved into the area and is falling rather heavily and will continue into early this afternoon, accumulations will range 5-8″ in the area.

Tuesday will be dry and seasonably cold

A second storm promised to give us more snow, sleet and freezing rain on Wednesday that will likely give us more significant accumulations, it appears at this time that the precipitation will not change to plain rain as we indicated yesterday.

Dry and cold Thursday and Friday.

Still another disturbance may give us some light snow on Saturday.

And then there is indications of a possible blizzard late Sunday into next Monday.  Can’t be much better than this for snow lovers during the next seven days!
