Quiet weather for Monday before a little light snow on Tuesday!

Today we will have some early morning clouds then become mostly sunny, it will feel more pleasant than the weekend as the temperature will be a few degrees milder with much less wind. The system moving through on Tuesday will give us some morning light snow that will mix with rain in the afternoon before ending as a little light snow and flurries at night, the system is not all that strong and will move quickly through the area so only minor accumulations are expected with about an inch or two mostly on colder surfaces. Mainly dry and chilly weather the rest of the week before we get milder on the weekend with some showers possible. Next week still looks mild, in fact temperatures on Monday may approach 60 degrees.

The forecast:
Today – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 40s.
Tonight – Becoming cloudy with a chance of snow after midnight, low in the low 30s.
Tuesday – Cloudy with light snow in the morning, mixing with rain in the afternoon and changing back to light snow or flurries before ending in the evening, high in the upper 30s.

Saturday – Mostly cloudy, high in the mid-upper 40s.
Sunday – Mostly cloudy and milder, high in the low 50s.

Marine forecast: Today – West-northwest wind to 13 knots, seas 2 feet.
Only chance of advisory level winds and seas would be Wednesday and Wednesday night, otherwise good boating conditions the rest of the week.

Have a good day! Big win last night for the Giants!!!

Cool and breezy Sunday, some snow likely Tuesday!

Below normal temperatures will continue today and it will be breezy but not as windy as yesterday, plenty of cloudiness especially in the afternoon.. More sun on Monday with temperatures rising a couple of degrees.. The system that is going to affect us from around Tuesday morning into Tuesday night will give us mostly light snow and at this time my guess of snow amounts is around 2-3″. Cool weather will prevail through Friday before a milder trend begins next weekend and continues into at least the middle of next week.

Have a great day: And go Giants, beat those Packers tonight!

Chilly and windy weekend, watching potential storm for Tuesday into Wednesday!

A cold front came through shortly after midnight bringing in colder air and gusty northwest winds, temperatures will not rise much today with highs in the 40s slowly dropping into the 30s by sunset, wind gusts to 35 mph are likely along with a scattered snow flurry especially inland.
It will stay windy and chilly on Sunday with winds diminishing by night. Monday looks quiet and dry ahead of a storm system that will affect the area on Tuesday and Wednesday. The computer models are not in much agreement right now but have been trending to a colder solution which would mean a possible accumulating snow event for the area especially inland. Dry and cool weather at the end of next week with a warming trend still indicated for the first week of December.

The forecast:
Today – Sunny this morning then partly cloudy, windy with a chance of snow flurries, highs in the low 40s dropping off to the 30s by sunset, wind gusts to 35 mph.
Tonight – Mostly cloudy with scattered flurries in the evening then mostly clear, cold with lows in the mid 20s.

One more mild day on this Black Friday!

Again this morning we have a wide range of temperatures with the mid 30s here in Clifton to many 20s a little further inland but with plenty of sunshine temperatures will rise quickly later this morning reaching the 50s by mid-day. A cold front will be coming through around midnight only giving us a brief shower, this front will be followed by windy and much cooler air. Chilly and dry weather Sunday and Monday. Another frontal system moving through late Tuesday and Wednesday will give us a chance of rain which may be mixed with snow well inland.. Dry Thursday and Friday with cool temperatures. The long, long range shows a possible significant warm-up for the first week of December but that of course can change..

The Forecast:
Today – Mostly sunny, high in the mid-upper 50s.
Tonight – Mostly cloudy with some evening light showers, low in the upper 30s.
Saturday – Mostly sunny and windy, highs in the mid 40s.

Marine Forecast: Small craft advisories today through Saturday afternoon: Today – Southwest winds gusting to 20 knots, seas up to 5 feet..
Outlook – Advisories will likely be continued through the weekend, lowering on Monday and early Tuesday but may be needed again by Wednesday with the next frontal system.

Have a great day!

Very pleasant Thanksgiving weather!

Wide range of temperatures at dawn this Thanksgiving morning, with my temperature on the hill in Clifton is 40 degrees but not too far in the lower elevations such as Fairfield the readings are in the upper 20s as clear skies and light winds are causing radiational cooling! Today all areas will have sunny skies with pleasant afternoon temperatures in the 50s. Black Friday will be mild but there will be increasing clouds late in the day as a cold front approaches the area, this front will pass through early Saturday morning with showers. Much cooler weather and windy for the weekend, some snow flurries could fall inland on Saturday. Next frontal system will be moving through on Tuesday night into Wednesday with mostly rain falling but some frozen precipitation may fall inland at the very beginning and tail end of the storm. Cooler than normal temperatures and dry later next week..

The forecast:
Today – Sunny and very pleasant, high in the mid 50s.
Tonight – Mostly clear, low in the upper 30s.
Friday – Partly cloudy during the day with showers possible at night, high temperatures in the mid 50s.
Saturday – Chance of morning showers or flurries, windy and colder, highs in the mid 40s.
Sunday and Monday – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 40s.
Tuesday – Partly sunny in the morning then becoming cloudy with a chance of rain late in the day, high in the upper 40s.
Wednesday – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain, high in the upper 40s.

Marine Forecast: Small craft advisories for high seas through Friday over the open waters.
Today – North wind becoming northeast to 20 knots, seas up to 7 feet.
Outlook – Advisories will be needed for winds and seas through Sunday as a cold front crosses the ocean waters..

Have a great Thanksgiving Day!!!!
