A cold front will sag into our area today with cloudy skies with occasional showers. Temperatures will be lower than yesterday with the clouds and rain but the humidity will stay high with dew points in the 60s.

The front will slowly move to our south on Tuesday and there will still be considerable cloudiness and a chance of a lingering shower especially in the morning.

High pressure over New England will build down to our area and push the front further south. We should stay dry Wednesday through Friday but an onshore flow will keep considerable cloudiness in our area. Daytime highs will be slightly above normal and overnight lows will be well above normal.

At this point the weekend looks to be unsettled as the front to our south starts moving northward to our area giving our area a chance of showers both days.

Another warm day today as high pressure moves off the coast with a continued southwest flow. High temperatures will be a couple of degrees higher than yesterday. We should see an increase in clouds tonight with a chance of showers late tonight.

With the front in our area, Monday looks to be a mostly cloudy day with slightly lower temperatures, and showers are likely with possibly a thunderstorm.

Showers are possible again on Tuesday as the front moves to our south.

High pressure to our north will then likely give us a dry period Wednesday and Thursday.

The front may move back into our area late in the week introducing a chance of more showers Friday extending into the beginning of next weekend. Temperatures will average slightly above normal.

High pressure moving to our south will give our area a southwest flow of warmer air today and with plenty of sunshine high temperatures will rise well up into the 70s.

Sunday will even be a little warmer warmer with highs in the low 80s. Skies again will be mostly sunny but we should see an increase in clouds at night as a cold front approaches from the north.

The front will be in our area or just to our south much of next week which will give our area a chance of showers each day with the highest chance Monday night into Tuesday. Temperatures will continue to be mild Monday and Tuesday and then fall to near normal by Wednesday.

CLIFTON’S CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR SEPTEMBER 2021.

Temperatures for the month averaged 69.0 degrees which was 2.8 degrees above normal.

Highest temperature was 87 on the 15th; lowest temperature was 50 on the 29th.

Precipitation was well above normal with 11.14″ accumulating. 8.44″ of this was from the remnants of Hurricane Ida on the 1st into the morning of the 2nd which caused widespread damaging and deadly floods in our area.

High pressure building from the Great Lakes will give us a light westerly flow of cool and dry air today. Highs will be from the upper 60s to around 70.

Very pleasant and warm weather for the first weekend of October with plenty of sunshine both days. Highs will be in the upper 70s on Saturday and rise to the low 80s on Sunday. High pressure will be moving off the Carolina coast and a light southwest flow dominates.

Unsettled weather much of next week as a front will be in our area and then move just to our south. There will be a chance of showers especially on Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures will average above normal early next week and then fall to near normal towards the end of the week.

High pressure building toward our area from the west will give us a dry and cool day today with partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies. High temperatures will be in the 60s.

More sunshine on Friday but it will be continued cool with lows tomorrow morning in the 40s and highs again in the 60s.

The weather for the first weekend in October looks to be warm and mainly dry but we likely have some showers Sunday night as a front will be near our area.

The front will continue in our area through the middle of next week with a chance of showers each day, temperatures will average above normal.
