Skies are cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and there is fog and some drizzle in the area. Once again it is unseasonably mild with readings ranging from the mid 40s in Clifton down to the upper 30s further inland, winds are mainly calm.

A weak frontal system in our area will give us cloudy skies again today with some drizzle and fog this morning, most of the rest of the daylight hours will be dry except for a possible shower this afternoon, temperatures will continue to be above normal.

A stronger low pressure area will move to our west and north tonight causing heavier showers mainly late tonight into early Thursday morning, rainfall amounts will be around 1/2 to 3/4″. There is a chance of rumble of thunder or two.

The low pressure will then move to our northeast and a brisk westerly flow of much drier air will develop, skies will become partly sunny by the afternoon.

High pressure will dominate our weather Friday through the weekend with dry conditions and colder temperatures.

Milder next week with a chance of showers on Tuesday.

A weak area of low pressure centered over the Tennessee valley will cause cloudy skies in our area with periods of light rain mainly this afternoon and tonight. With the clouds and rain, temperatures will be lower than the warm day we had yesterday, but still be above normal.

The weak frontal system will continue to cause cloudy skies on Wednesday with periods of light rain or drizzle.

A stronger low pressure will cause heavier showers and even a few rumbles of thunder Wednesday night into early Thursday morning. As colder air moves in behind the storm the precipitation may mix with snow early Thursday before ending, especially across the higher terrain of northwest New Jersey and the Poconos.

Clearing on Thursday but it will be breezy, temperatures will be slightly above normal.

Fair and cold weather Friday through the weekend.

After the three day period of cold temperatures it looks like mild weather will return for much of next week.

High pressure off the coast will continue to give us a mild southerly flow of air, daytime temperatures will be similar to yesterday with highs in the upper 50s. We will have mostly sunny skies most of the day but we should see an increase in clouds toward evening.

Light rain is likely on Tuesday as a weak low pressure moves into the area, highs will be cooler than today due to cloudy skies but still above normal. Rainfall amounts will be less than 1/4″.

A stronger frontal system will likely give our area heavier rain Wednesday afternoon and evening with even a chance of a couple of thunderstorms. Rainfall amounts will be between 1/2 and 1 inch.

Sunshine returns on Thursday with slightly cooler temperatures.

Dry but colder weather can be expected Friday through the weekend.

Monday will be quite mild again but we should see an increase in clouds as the day progresses.

Periods of rain is likely Tuesday through Wednesday night, the rain will be light on Tuesday but heavier on Wednesday with about an inch of rain possible.

Dry on Thursday with temperatures a little above normal but a cold front is expected to come through dry at night followed by colder than normal temperatures Friday into next weekend.

Very nice weather this weekend as high pressure over the southeast states will give our area a southwesterly flow of milder air today and tomorrow, with light winds and mostly sunny skies both days.

A couple of low pressure areas will give us periods of rain Tuesday through Thursday with the heaviest rain expected Wednesday night into Thursday.
