Rain is falling over much of the area early on this Monday morning and temperatures range from the upper 30s in Clifton down to 31 at High Point, winds are brisk out of the northeast.

Low pressure over the Great Lakes will move through our region today giving us periods of rain that will taper off to drizzle by tonight. A warm front will stay to our south, high temperatures here will be in the 40s but the temperatures will rise to the 60s across southern New Jersey. Additional rain amounts of around 1/2 inch is expected.

Drizzle will end late tonight followed by partial clearing on Tuesday as the storm moves away from the area, temperatures behind the system will still be on the mild side. Temperatures at midnight as the ball drops will be in the mid 30s and there will be a brisk westerly wind.

New Year’s Day will be seasonably mild and dry but still be a bit breezy.

Another low pressure system will likely give us more rain late Thursday night continuing on Friday, some areas well north and west of our area may have a wintery mix at the start of the precipitation before changing to all rain.

Rain will end by Saturday morning and the rest of the weekend looks dry. Temperatures will be mild on Saturday and somewhat cooler on Sunday.

A low pressure system will be moving into our area today and rain should develop by late this afternoon and continue through Monday before tapering off to drizzle or light rain Monday night and then end Tuesday morning. Some of the higher elevations of Sussex County may have a period of freezing rain tonight and a winter weather advisory has been issued for that area. Rainfall amounts in our area will be around 1 1/2 inches.

Clearing later on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day will be dry with seasonably mild temperatures.

Dry and mild during the day on Thursday but another low pressure system will give us a chance of rain Thursday night through Friday.

High pressure building into our area will give us a mostly sunny and mild day, highs will reach the 50s and with light winds it will feel quite comfortable for late December.

A frontal system will cause rain to develop late Sunday afternoon and continue through Monday night and ending before daybreak on Tuesday. Rainfall amounts of near 2 inches are likely.

Dry with seasonably mild temperatures the rest of Tuesday through Thursday.

Another frontal system may give us more rain Friday into Saturday morning.

Today we will have cloudy skies but temperatures will be mild with readings in the 50s, a weak cold front will cross the area tonight but should come through dry with the only precipitation well north and west of our area.

Saturday will be quite a nice day for late December with mostly sunny skies and continued mild temperatures as high pressure builds into our area.

A low pressure system will give us rain from late Sunday afternoon through Monday night, the rain may be heavy at times especially Sunday night into Monday morning, rainfall amounts of 1 1/2 to 2 inches are likely, temperatures will continue to be mild.

Dry weather then is expected Tuesday through Thursday with slightly above normal temperatures.

High pressure will be moving off the coast and we should see an increase in clouds by this afternoon, there is a slight chance of a shower tonight mainly to our north as a weak disturbance moves through.

Friday and Saturday will be mild and dry as high pressure builds into our area, Friday will be cloudy but Saturday will be mostly sunny.

A stronger low pressure system will be moving into our area on Sunday with rain likely Sunday afternoon into Monday morning, about an inch of rainfall is possible. Temperatures will continue to be mild.
