A little less hot but staying very humid on this Independence Day with a low chance of a shower!


Good morning everyone!

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this 4th of July and it is again warm and very muggy with temperatures ranging from the mid 70s in the Clifton area down to around 70 further inland, winds are calm and the humidity is very high.

Today we will have mostly cloudy skies and it will continue to be very humid with dew points remaining in the oppressive 70s.   Temperatures with the clouds and a light onshore wind will be about five degrees lower than yesterday.  There is a low chance of  an afternoon shower or thunderstorm mainly inland.  Any showers should end by this evening so fireworks viewing will not be affected.

Thursday it will stay very humid with warm temperatures but we should stay dry.

A front will cause showers and thunderstorms on Friday with heavy rain likely.

High pressure building in from the northwest will give our area a very nice weekend with pleasant temperatures and much less humidity.

Dry weather will continue into early next week with seasonably warm temperatures and only moderate humidity levels.

Skies are mostly clear early this morning and it is quite warm and muggy with temperatures ranging from the upper 70s in the Clifton area down to 70 further inland, winds are mainly calm.  Yesterday in Clifton the temperature went up to 99 degrees making this the hottest reading since July 18, 2012.

We will have our 5th day of the heatwave today but high temperatures will be a couple of degrees lower than yesterday but the humidity will be higher with dew points in the oppressive low to mid 70s.  A weak disturbance will give us a chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm.

Quite warm and humid tomorrow and on Thursday but we should remain dry.

A cold front will cross the area on Friday with showers and thunderstorms likely.

The cold front will be followed by a much cooler and drier air mass for the weekend.

Excessive heat and humidity to continue today! A little less heat but staying humid the rest of the week! Relief by the weekend!


Skies are mostly clear early this morning but some inland area has patchy fog, temperatures once again are warm ranging from the mid 70s in the Clifton area down to the mid 60s further inland, the winds are light southwesterly.

A very strong ridge of high pressure over the area will give us mostly sunny skies today with very hot tempertures, high temperatures will again reach the upper 90s and with dew points around 70 will cause the heat index to rise to near 105 degrees, an excessive heat warning continues in effect.

A little less hot the rest of this week but it will stay humid with dew points at or above 70 degrees.

A cold front is expected to cross the area late Friday night and will be associated with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

After some early showers on Saturday the rest of the weekend looks to be dry and with cooler temperatures and much less humidity.

JUNE 2018 CLIFTON’S WEATHER SUMMARY!

June averaged 71.6 degrees which was about 1.5 degrees above normal   Highest temperature was 95 degrees set on the 18th and 30th,  the lowest temperature was 50 recorded on the 4th.   Precipitation was below normal with 2.63 inches falling and was the driest June since 1999.

 

Again keep cool!

Very hot again on Monday with continued sunny skies, humidity will continue to be high.

Not quite as hot the rest of the week but it will continue to be humid, highs will still reach the low 90s each day.

Skies are clear early this morning and temperatures range from the low 70s in the Clifton area down to some upper 50s further inland, winds are light or calm.

A strong high pressure ridge will provide our area with sunny skies today, temperatures will rise into the mid 90s however the humidity will not be too oppressive with dew points in the low to mid 60s.

Excessive heat and humidity on Sunday as high temperatures rise to close to 100 degrees and with dew points rising to the low 70s will cause heat indexes near 110 degrees.  An excessive heat watch is in effect.

The heat and humidity will be with us most of next week and for the most part it will stay dry except for a low chance of thunderstorms on Independence Day and again on Friday.
