Skies are cloudy early on this Monday morning and there is some scattered drizzle or light rain in parts of the area, temperatures continue to be mild ranging from the low 40s in the Clifton area down to the mid 30s further inland, winds are mainly calm.

A weak warm front will remain just to our south today and we will have a light onshore flow of moist air, skies will be cloudy and there may be some scattered drizzle in the area, high temperatures will be in the 40s.

Tomorrow will be a very mild day but with periods of moderate to heavy rain at times as a frontal system moves into our area from the west, rainfall amounts will be near an inch.

Dry weather should prevail Tuesday night into at least Saturday, it will be cooler with the coldest days should be Thursday and Friday.

Milder over the weekend with a chance of rain on Sunday.

With clear skies and calm winds there is a wide range in temperatures early this morning with readings in the upper 30s in the Clifton area falling to the upper teens well inland.

Today will be a mostly sunny day, temperatures will be a couple of degrees cooler than yesterday but still above normal as a weak cold front slides to our south.

Skies will become cloudy tonight and there is a chance of drizzle on Monday as the weak front starts moving north into our area.

A low pressure will move to our north on Tuesday producing rain that may be heavy at times, rainfall amounts will be near an inch.

Dry weather will return with seasonably cold temperatures Wednesday through Friday.

Milder again next weekend with a chance of rain on Sunday.

Skies are mostly clear early this morning and temperatures are milder than they have been ranging from the middle 30s in Clifton to the upper teens in some of the valleys well inland, winds are from the southwest 5-10 mph.

Today will be a mostly sunny and mild day with temperatures reaching the low 50s, winds will be brisk but other than that it will be a rather nice day for the middle of winter.

A weak back door cold front will move to our south on Sunday we will remain dry but high temperatures will be a little lower than today.

A frontal system approaching from the west will cause considerable cloudiness on Monday with some patchy drizzle which may be in the form of freezing drizzle inland.

Low pressure developing on the front will cause rain on Tuesday with possible amounts of around an inch.

Dry with seasonably cold temperatures Wednesday through Friday.

Skies are clear early on this Friday morning and with calm winds temperatures are quite chilly ranging from the upper teens in the Clifton area down to near zero in some of the inland valleys.

High pressure over the southeast states will give us a westerly flow of milder air by this afternoon along with plenty of sunshine.

Sunshine and even milder temperatures on Saturday but it may be breezy in the afternoon.  A weak cold front will come through dry on Sunday with daytime highs a couple of degrees cooler than on Saturday.

A frontal system will approach the area on Monday, there will be a chance of rain in the afternoon and evening that may begin briefly as a mixture of sleet inland.

Rain on Tuesday ending in the afternoon, rain may be heavy at times,  an inch of rain is possible.

Dry weather returns with seasonably cool temperatures Wednesday and Thursday.

THURSDAY  JANUARY 18, 2018    5:40 A.M.

With clear skies and a fresh snowpack temperatures are quite cold early this morning with readings ranging from the mid teens in the Clifton area falling to below zero to our north and west,  the temperature in Walpack is -5 degrees.   There is some black ice on untreated roads and sidewalks so be careful if you are heading out this morning.

High pressure located over the southern Mississippi valley will give us a brisk northwest flow of seasonably cold air today along with plenty of sunshine.

A little milder on Friday with again plenty of sunshine.

Quite mild and continued dry over the weekend.

A slow moving frontal system will likely give us some rain Monday afternoon into Tuesday.

Dry weather is expected to return on Wednesday with seasonably cool temperatures.
