Record warm temperatures likely today and on Thursday!


We have clear skies and calm winds early on this Wednesday morning and there is a wide range of temperatures, it is 40 degrees now in Clifton but readings range from the low 50s up in High Point to the low 30s in some of the inland valleys.

Today we will have plenty of sunshine and temperatures will rise quickly after sunrise reaching the 70s by late this morning, record highs are likely and some spots may even hit the 80 degree mark.  High pressure offshore will give us a southwest flow of unseasonably warm temperatures.

It will be quite mild tonight with lows only dropping down to the 50s and Thursday we could expect more warm temperatures with highs in the 70s however clouds will increase late in the day and there is a chance of showers in the afternoon and evening as a cold front approaches the area.

Cooler on Friday but temperatures will still be well above normal with plenty of sunshine.

The weekend still looks to be mild but shower chances will increase by the afternoon on Sunday.

Chances of showers will continue early next week with continued above normal temperatures.

Unseasonable warm with some record high temperatures through at least Thursday!


Skies are partly cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures range from the mild mid 40s here in Clifton the low 30s in some of the cooler outlying suburbs, winds are light.

Today we will have some cloudiness this morning then become mostly sunny, temperatures will rise to near 70 degrees which is more than 20 degrees above normal for this time of year.

Even warmer tomorrow and Thursday with highs well up into the 70s and some areas may even see a very remarkable 80 degree temperature as high pressure off the southeast coast produces very warm air into the region.  It will be mainly dry but there is a low chance of an afternoon shower on Thursday as a cold front approaches the area.

The cold front should slip to our south on  Friday bringing in somewhat cooler air but temperatures will still be well above normal.

Unsettled weather for the weekend into early next week with some rain showers possible with the best chance of rain on Sunday, temperatures will continue to be above normal in fact mild temperatures should continue for at least the next two weeks.

Warming trend starts today with 70s likely on Wednesday!


We have mostly clear skies early on this Monday morning and temperatures range from the low 30s here in Clifton to the low 20s inland, winds are nearly calm.  Although these temperatures are near normal for this time of year it is likely it won’t be this cool for quite some time.

Today we will see mostly sunny skies, it will become breezy this afternoon and temperatures will rise into the upper 50s.

Very mild and dry Tuesday through the day on Thursday, temperatures will rise to the 60s tomorrow, 70s on Wednesday and near 70 on Thursday.  The next chance of showers will not be until Thursday night as a cold front approaches.

A little cooler Friday through Sunday but temperatures will still be well above normal, there may be some showers Saturday evening into Sunday.

Some morning flurries then sunshine this afternoon! Significant warmup this week starting tomorrow!


Skies are cloudy over the region this morning and there are some flurries falling especially over the Poconos, temperatures are chilly ranging from the upper 20s here in Clifton to the low 20s further inland.  These temperatures are cold but not nearly as cold as on this date last year when we had a 7 degree reading along with 19 inches of snow on the ground.

Today we may see some early flurries followed by clearing, temperatures will be a couple of degrees higher than what we had yesterday topping off in the mid 40s.

The warmup is still on tap for this week with the 50s on Monday, 60s on Tuesday and near 70 degrees on Wednesday and with no rain expected through Wednesday it will be very pleasant.

A cold front is expected to cross the area on Thursday along with some showers, highs will still be in the 60s.

A little cooler Friday and Saturday but temperatures will still be above normal with some rain possible on Saturday.

Seasonably cold and mainly dry weather this weekend! Warming trend next week with possible record highs on Wednesday!


Skies are clear over the area early this Saturday morning and it is a little chilly with temperatures ranging from the mid 20s here in Clifton to some upper teens in the normally colder inland areas, there is a light northerly wind.

Today we should see an increase in cloudiness with temperatures in the low 40s which is slightly below normal for early March.

A weak disturbance will give us only a slight chance of some flurries early on Sunday morning followed by clearing by noontime with temperatures a couple of degrees higher than today.

The well advertised spring preview will start on Monday with highs in the 50s, reaching the 60s on Tuesday and near 70 on Wednesday, plenty of sunshine with light winds will make it feel quite nice.

A cold front will swing through on Thursday along with a chance of showers followed by clearing and cooler air on Friday but temperatures will continue to be above normal.
