Steady rain ending this morning becoming quite warm with possible thunderstorms this afternoon!


We have light rain early this morning along with some fog, temperatures are mostly around the 70 degree mark with very high humidity.

Much less rain occurred in our area than what was forecasted with only slightly over 1/4 of an inch of rain falling through 6 a.m. this morning.  The steady rain should end around 10 a.m. and we may see some clearing, it will becoming quite warm and continue to be humid and as a cold front approaches we may see some afternoon showers and thunderstorms develop.  Summer arrives at 12:38 this afternoon.

Monday will be quite warm and dry with plenty of sunshine, humidity levels will be somewhat lower.

Tuesday looks to be hot with some readings in the mid 90s along with higher humidity and as another front approaches we may see some more shower and thunderstorm activity.

Wednesday looks to be seasonably warm and dry with plenty of sunshine.

Shower chances increase for later in the week, temperatures will be at or slightly below normal.

MARINE FORECAST:  Small craft advisory is in effect till 8 p.m. this evening for southwest winds with gusts to 30 knots, seas 3-5 feet.  Water temperatures are in the upper 60s.

OUTLOOK – Small craft advisories possible Monday morning and again on Tuesday, otherwise no advisories expected through Thursday.

Skies are mostly cloudy early this morning and temperatures range from the upper 60s in Clifton to some mid  50s further inland, there is a light northeast wind.

The biggest change in the forecast is for a chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon however the heavier rain associated with Bill will not move into the area until later tonight, temperatures will be cool with highs only in the mid 70s.

The heavy rain will continue into tomorrow morning and there may be a lull in the precipitation around midday but there will be a chance of more afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, temperatures will be warmer along with high humidity.  Rainfall amounts will average 1-2 inches with some higher amounts possible, a flood watch is in effect for the area.

Monday looks to be dry and quite warm.

Quite warm again on Tuesday but with a chance of showers and thunderstorms as a cold front approaches.

Dry and seasonably warm on Wednesday.

More chances of showers Thursday and Friday with highs slightly below normal.

Some showers this morning then clearing and warm! Nice Saturday! Rain on Father’s Day!


Some light showers have moved into the Clifton area and temperatures are mostly in the mid 60s in the area along with humid conditions and nearly calm winds.

We will have some showers continuing part of this morning as a warm front followed by a cold front moves through the area, after the fronts pass it will become mostly sunny and quite warm but the humidity will slowly lower throughout the afternoon.

Saturday will be an outstanding late spring day with comfortable temperatures and humidities.

The remnants of former Tropical Storm Bill will cause rain to develop after 10 p.m. Saturday night and continue on Father’s Day, some of the rain will be heavy and it will be humid, expect an average of 1 to 2 inches of rainfall.

Warm Monday and Tuesday with some thunderstorms possible on Tuesday as a cold front moves through the area.

Dry with seasonably warm temperatures Wednesday and Thursday.

Looking ahead there are no heat waves expected through the beginning of July with temperatures slightly below normal.

Skies are mainly cloudy early this Thursday morning and temperatures range from the low 60s in the Clifton area to around 60 inland, winds are nearly calm.  There are some showers across Central and Southern parts of New Jersey.

Today will be a cloudy day with a chance of some light showers, with the clouds and an onshore flow temperatures will be cool.  A cold front will cross the area late tonight or early Friday morning causing some shower and thunderstorms activity.

Friday will be warmer with plenty of sunshine.

Cooler on Saturday but will be dry until late at night, a rather nice day for outside activities.

The remnants of Bill will give us a chance of showers late Saturday night into Sunday, some of this rain may be heavy.

Unsettled weather Monday though Wednesday, it will be seasonably warm, the best chance of shower activity looks to be around Tuesday night.

We have clear skies early this Wednesday morning, temperatures range from the upper 60s in the Clifton area to the mid 50s in some of the cooler interior areas, winds are from the north around 5-10 mph.

Today we will finally have a nice late spring day with plenty of sunshine and comfortably warm temperatures as high pressure builds into the area.

Increasing cloudiness tonight and Thursday looks to be a mostly cloudy day with a chance of showers, most of the rain will be on the light side.

Friday will start off mostly cloudy but sunshine will return as another high builds into the area, temperatures will be warm.

Dry weather will continue through most of Saturday but showers are expected to develop at night and continue into Sunday some of this rain may be heavy as some of the remnants from Tropical Depression Bill moves into the area.

Early next week looks warm and dry.
