Chilly and dry the next two days; Mild and dry for Easter weekend!

Under clear skies temperatures have fallen to near record low readings for the day with 32 being reported in Clifton with the 20s further inland, winds are lighter than yesterday.

We will experience another cool day today as strong high pressure over New England will dominate our weather, winds will be off the cool ocean but there will still be plenty of sunshine with continued lighter winds than yesterday.  Tonight will be cool again with patchy frost.

It now appears that we will stay dry Friday through Easter weekend with a slow moderation of temperatures.

Record cold April 16th!

Temperatures this morning in the Clifton area have fallen into the 20s with wind chills in the teens. The 28 degree temperature at 6am in Clifton is a record low for April 16th.

Hard to believe that after having an 80 degree reading on Monday that we would have accumulating snow Tuesday night.  I received 1/2 inch of the white stuff with a couple of inches reported across inland sections.

Unseasonably cold weather will continue today with most highs only in the upper 40s, gusty winds this morning will diminish this afternoon.

Near record low temperatures are likely early Thursday morning then it will become just a little milder, winds will be light.

Easter Sunday still looks very pleasant with highs reaching the lower 60s.

Happy birthday to my daughter Jessica, you received your present three days early when Sullivan came into this world.

Have a wonderful day!

Abrupt end to our summer preview; Freeze warning for tonight!

Unseasonably mild temperatures again early this morning with most readings in the low 60s.  Some scattered showers are in the area.

Total rain amounts will be around 1.5 inches.

It will clear out on Wednesday with diminishing winds, highs will only be in the low 50s.

Dry and cool weather will continue Thursday into most of the day on Friday.

One more warm day then big changes to our weather!

It is very mild this early morning for this time of year as the temperature only fell to around the 60 degree mark, skies are partly cloudy with a light southerly breeze.

It was a wonderful day yesterday weatherwise and for our family as Sullivan (future weatherperson) came into this world at 6:27am, the weather at that time was cloudy and a temperature of 48 degrees, after those clouds broke temperatures rose to almost record warm readings reaching the lower 80s.

Today will be continue to be quite warm for this time of year with highs reaching at least the upper 70s, skies will be partly sunny.

Tonight will be quite mild again but clouds will increase.

An impressive cold front will be approaching our area from the west with showers likely before daybreak tomorrow and become heavy at times during the day, winds will increase from the south.

The strong cold front will cross the area Tuesday evening with heavy rain showers, winds will become northerly after the frontal passage causing dramatically colder air to flow into our area.  The precipitation is likely to change to snow (yes snow!) before ending early on Wednesday morning, there should be no accumulation in our area but a coating of snow is possible across northwest New Jersey and the Poconos.

Clearing with much cooler weather on Wednesday, highs will have a hard time reaching the 50 degree mark.

Still cool and dry Thursday and Friday.

Saturday will be the next chance of showers that hopefully will end before daybreak on Easter Sunday, temperatures will only slowly moderate during this time frame.

The forecast: Today – Partly sunny, high in the upper 70s.

Tonight – Becoming cloudy with rain showers likely before daybreak, low in the upper 50s.

Tuesday – Showers heavy at times and windy, high in the mid 60s

Tuesday night – Showers heavy at times changing to snow before ending before daybreak on Wednesday, windy and much colder, low around 30.

Wednesday – Sunny, high in only near 50.

Thursday – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 50s.

Friday – Partly sunny, high in the mid 50s.

Saturday – Cloudy with a chance of showers, high in the upper 50s.

Easter Sunday – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers in the morning, high in the low 60s.

Marine forecast: Small craft advisory in effect for southerly winds up to 30 knots, seas 4-7 feet.

Outlook – Gale watch for Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, small craft advisories then likely through Friday.

Have a good day!

Warm weather to end weekend!

Skies are mostly cloudy in the Clifton area and temperatures are near 50 degrees, 40s inland.

The clouds should break this morning and we will experience mostly sunny and it will be warm once again with temperatures well up into the 70s, much cooler along coastal areas.

Another warm day on Monday but clouds will increase toward evening.

A strong cold front will move across the area on Tuesday with heavy rain and strong winds. It will be much colder following the front and the rain may mix with snow before ending early on Wednesday morning,

Dry and cool weather Wednesday into Friday.

The next chance of showers will be on Saturday with clearing and cool weather expected on Easter Sunday.

Have a good day!
