Skies are clear early this Wednesday morning and temperatures range from near 60 degrees in the Clifton area to the mid 50s further inland, winds are light.

Today we will have plenty of sunshine with quite warm temperatures reaching the mid-upper 80s in most places, winds will be light.

Thursday should be the hottest day of the week as temperatures soar into the low 90s with moderately high humidity levels, there is a chance of an afternoon thunderstorm but most areas will remain dry.

Another warm day on Friday but there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms at night.

A frontal system in our area on Saturday will give us a continued chance of showers and thunderstorms, temperatures will be still quite warm.

Not as warm Sunday with plenty of sunshine.

Seasonably warm early next week with a chance of showers Monday night.

Skies are cloudy early this Tuesday morning, showers have moved north of the Clifton area and now extend up to the Hudson Valley, temperatures are mild with most readings in the mid to upper 60s along with high humidity.

Today a frontal system will be approaching our area which will cause considerable cloudiness along with a chance of thunderstorms once again, it will be quite warm and humid, some of the storms may be heavy.

The front will cross the area tonight and Wednesday will be a less humid along with plenty of sunshine.

Thursday will be the hottest day of the week as temperatures should rise into the lower 90s, with the heat there is a chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms.

Friday should stay dry with warm temperatures.

Another front will be in our area on Saturday that will give us a chance of thunderstorms once again,  Sunday should be dry and less humid.

More thunderstorms are possible on Monday.

Skies are cloudy early this Monday morning and temperatures are milder than yesterday morning with readings ranging from the low 60s in the Clifton area to the upper 50s inland, there is a light southerly wind flow.

Today will be cloudy and warmer, there is a chance of some showers in the Poconos this morning the may clip extreme portions of northwest New Jersey but most of the the thunderstorm activity will hold off till this evening with some of these storms being strong.  It will be warmer and gradually more humid today.

On Tuesday there may be some showers in the morning but strong thunderstorms may occur in the afternoon, it will continue to be warm and humid.

Wednesday and Thursday should be dry but quite warm to hot with Thursday being the hottest day when we may reach 90 degrees.

A front moving into the area may cause more showers and thunderstorms Friday afternoon into Saturday it will also become more humid.

Sunday should be dry with warm temperatures and less humid conditions.

Skies are mostly cloudy early this Saturday morning, an area of showers has moved to our south and east, some lighter showers are moving through the Hudson Valley, temperatures are rather mild mainly in the low 60s along with muggy conditions.

Today a cold front will swing through the area and it will become mostly sunny by noontime, it will be warm but much less humid by this afternoon.

Sunday will start off chilly as overnight temperatures will dip into the 40s in most area, then with plenty of sunshine it will be a very pleasant late spring day.

This morning we have a low chance of some light showers or sprinkles, by this afternoon we may see a thinning of the cloudiness, high temperatures will still be on the cool side.

On Saturday we will start off mostly cloudy as a front moves through the area then high pressure building in will cause skies to become sunny with warmer temperatures.

Still sunny on Sunday but somewhat cooler.

Some showers Monday afternoon through Tuesday as a front moves into the area, it will be warmer and a little more humid.

Sunshine returns today and not as chilly! Some showers possible Thursday night into Friday! Weekend looks good!


Skies are cloudy in the area early this Wednesday morning and temperatures range from the low 50s in Clifton to the upper 40s in the colder inland area, winds are light.

This morning we start off cloudy but sunshine will return by this afternoon and it will not be as chilly as the last few days as temperature will rise to the upper 60s which is still around ten degrees lower than normal.

Overcast conditions return on Thursday and there is a chance of some light showers at night, temperatures will continue to be below normal.

Somewhat milder on Friday with again a chance of some showers.

It now appears the weekend will be dry, Saturday will be warm with slightly lower temperatures on Sunday.

Milder early next week along with a chance of showers.

Looking further ahead it appears that warmer weather will return for most of next week into next weekend.

Chilly and dreary weather to continue today with mainly just light rain and drizzle!


It is a chilly Tuesday morning as temperatures have fallen to the upper 40s in the Clifton area, skies are cloudy with some drizzle along with a northeast wind.

Today will continue to be quite chilly with periods of light rain or drizzle, high temperatures will only reach the 50s and with a rather brisk northeast wind it will feel even colder.

Improving weather on Wednesday and Thursday with sunshine returning, temperatures will be a little below normal.

Milder on Friday with a chance of showers at night.

Latest indications are showing that the weekend weather will not be a washout with only a low chance of showers on Saturday, temperatures will be near normal for early June.

CLIMATE –  May 2015 was the warmest May since I began my records in 1973.  Precipitation totalled 2.36″, if we didn’t get the 1.45″ of rain on the 31st it would of been the driest May on record.

Cool with rain today and Tuesday! Flash flood watch in effect!


The rain has stopped for now in the Clifton area and temperatures are in the mid 50s, winds are around 10 m.p.h.   We received 2.10″ of rainfall since yesterday with some area having more than double that amount causing flash flooding.

Rain will again develop today and continue into Tuesday an additional 2 inches is possible with some higher amounts, a flash flood watch continues in effect through tomorrow.  Temperatures will be much cooler than the last few days with highs only in the 60s.

Drier weather can be expected Wednesday and Thursday with temperatures a little below normal.

Another frontal system will move into the area on Friday, the timing of possible showers is still in question as the GFS has the precipitation falling Friday night into early Saturday while the European has most of the showers falling Saturday and Saturday night, temperatures will be around normal for early June.
