Heatwave to begin today and last into at least early next week!


Skies are mostly clear early on this Thursday morning and temperatures range from the upper 60s here in Clifton to the mid 50s further inland, winds are light.

High pressure over the area today will provide us with plenty of sunshine, temperatures will rise to near 90, humidity levels will slowly rise with dew points in the 60s.

Very hot and more humid on Friday with a low chance of some thunderstorm activity in the evening.

Saturday may be the hottest day of the heatwave as temperatures rise to the upper 90s with some readings getting close to 100 degrees, humidity levels will likely only be moderate but it still will be uncomfortable.

Mostly sunny on Sunday and temperatures may be a couple of degrees cooler than on Saturday.

A weak front may cause some thunderstorms again on Monday followed by sunny and continued hot weather Tuesday and Wednesday.

FRIDAY – Mostly sunny, hot and more humid, high in the mid 90s, chance of evening showers and thunderstorms.

Skies are mostly clear early on this Wednesday morning and it is quite comfortable with temperatures ranging from the upper 60s here in Clifton to the upper 50s further inland, the humidity is low with dew points in the comfortable low 50s, winds are light.

High pressure over the area will give us another nice and comfortable summer day with near normal temperatures and comfortable humidity.

Plenty of sunshine again on Thursday and temperatures will rise to near 90 but only with a slight rise in humidity levels.

Sizzling heat then builds on Friday and last through early next week with highs each day well up into the 90s, humidity will also become oppressive especially Sunday and Monday.  At this time the only chance of shower activity is on Friday night and again Sunday night into Monday.

Not as hot and much less humid today and on Wednesday! Heat returns Thursday and continue through the weekend!


Skies have become mostly fair early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures are still warm ranging from the low 70s here in Clifton to the low 60s further inland, the humidity is lower with dew points that were near 70 at midnight has fallen to the low 60s at daybreak, there is also a nice refreshing breeze.

Today we will have plenty of sunshine and temperatures will be seasonably warm with highs well up into the 80s but it will much more comfortable as dew points will fall to around 50 this afternoon.

High pressure will give us a very nice Wednesday with again plenty of sunshine, seasonably warm temperatures and comfortable humidity.

The heat will start to return on Thursday and be with us through the weekend with highs again in the 90s Friday through Monday, there will be a low chance of showers Friday evening and only a slight chance of shower activity over the weekend but most places will remain dry.

Very hot today with thunderstorms likely later this afternoon! Cooler and less humid Tuesday and Wednesday! Heat returns for Friday into the weekend!


We have partly cloudy skies early on this Monday morning and temperatures range from the low 70s here in Clifton to the low 60s in some of the inland suburbs, winds are mostly calm.

Looking back on my 43 years of records shows that July 18th has the most 90 degrees or higher temperatures than any other day of the year and this year we will add another one as a southwest wind off high pressure offshore will pump up hot air and give us temperatures well up into the 90s.  A cold front approaching from the west will cause thunderstorms to develop later this afternoon some of these storms may be strong with possible strong wind gusts and heavy rain.

Much drier air with cooler temperatures behind the front for tomorrow and especially Wednesday, dew points both days will drop to the comfortable 50s along with seasonable temperatures.

Thursday will be dry with warmer temperatures but still with comfortable humidity levels.

Another heat wave is expected Friday through Sunday with highs each day well up into the 90s with increasing humidity.  A cold front may cause some thunderstorm activity on Sunday otherwise no rain is expected.

Another hot day today! Even hotter on Monday with afternoon and evening thunderstorms possible!


Skies are partly cloudy early on the Sunday morning and temperatures range from the low 70s here in Clifton to the mid 60s further inland, winds are mostly calm.

A front that caused some heavy rain and thunderstorms across Central and Southern New Jersey will dissipate and weak high pressure will build into the area, temperatures again will rise again to near 90 degrees but the humidity will be moderate with dew points mostly in the 60s.

Tomorrow a stronger cold front will approach the area, ahead of this front temperatures will rise well up into the 90s, the front will cause some thunderstorm activity in the afternoon and evening.

Drier air will move in for Tuesday along with a little cooler temperatures.

Dry for the rest of the week, temperatures and humidity levels will be comfortable Wednesday and Thursday but the return to the heat is likely Friday into next weekend.
