Quite warm and humid today with some thunderstorms likely! Still warm but much less humid tomorrow through Tuesday!


Skies are mostly cloudy to cloudy across the area early on this Saturday morning and temperatures are warmer than the last couple of mornings ranging from near 70 in Clifton to the mid 60s further inland, winds are mainly calm.

Today will have mostly cloudy skies it will become quite warm and more humid and as a cold front approaches we should likely see some afternoon thunderstorm activity, some storms may be strong with gusty winds and heavy rain.   The threat of rain will diminish this evening as the cold front moves offshore and it will become less humid.

Fine summer weather tomorrow through Tuesday with plenty of sunshine each day, seasonably warm temperatures and comfortable humidity as high pressure will be in control.

Warmer and more humid Wednesday through the end of the week with the best chance of showers on Wednesday and then again on Friday as a front will be stationary near our area.

Skies are mostly clear early on this Friday morning and tempertures range from the mid 60s in the Clifton area to the mid 50s further inland, winds are mainly calm.

High pressure moving off the coast will give us another fine summer day with comfortable temperatures and humidity levels, humidity should increase at night.

A cold front crossing the area will likely give our area showers and thunderstorms mainly in the afternoon and evening hours, some of these storms may be strong with gusty winds and heavy rain, it also will be warmer and more humid.

High pressure then build back into the area on Sunday and should be in control of our weather through at least the early part of next week, temperatures will be seasonably warm with comfortable humidity.

Warmer and more humid air should return to the area for Wednesday and Thursday.

High pressure will continue to give our area nice summer weather today and on Friday with comfortable temperatures and humidity.

A cold front will cross the area Saturday afternoon or evening causing some thunderstorm activity, some storms may be quite strong, it will also be quite warm and humid.

High pressure then builds into the area on Sunday and last through at least Tuesday again giving the area seasonably warm temperatures and comfortable humidity.

Latest indications are that it will become quite warm and humid later next week.

Skies are mostly clear early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures are cooler than they have been lately ranging from the low 60s here in Clifton to the mid 50s further inland, winds are light and there is some patchy fog in some inland areas.

High pressure will be in control of our weather today through Friday with plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures and humidity.

Saturday will be quite warm and humid as a cold front and as a cold front swings through the area we will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

High pressure will again build into the area on Sunday with more nice summer weather that will continue through at least the middle of next week.

There are some indications that we will have more heat at the end of next week.

JULY 2016 CLIMATE SUMMARY:    July average temperature was 78.0 degrees which was 2.5 degrees above normal, this was the seventh straight July with above normal temperatures.  Precipitation was above normal with 6.24 inches with about half that about falling in the last three days of the month, some inland areas had about twice that amount.

We have cloudy skies early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures range from near 70 in Clifton to the mid 60s inland, winds are light, there are some showers now across the Hudson Valley.

Today we should see mostly cloudy skies with only a low chance of a morning shower, it will become less humid than the last few days as high pressure builds down from the north, temperatures will be a little below normal.

Fantastic early August weather tomorrow and Thursday with high pressure in control of our weather giving us plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures and humidity.

A little more humid on Friday, the day will be mostly sunny but a cold front approaching from the west may give us some showers at night.

Saturday will be quite warm and humid with a chance of showers as the cold front moves through the area.

High pressure will then be in control of the weather Sunday through early next week giving us mostly fair weather with comfortably warm temperatures and humidity.
