Rain to develop this morning starting off as a wintery mix inland! Cool, breezy and dry on Friday! Milder weekend with rain likely Sunday afternoon and at night!


Skies have become cloudy early on this Thursday morning and there is some mixed precipitation over the Poconos, temperatures range from around 40 in the Clifton area to the low 30s further inland, winds are light.

A low pressure system will be moving through the area today causing mainly rain over the area but the rain may begin with a mix of sleet, snow and freezing rain especially inland before changing to plain rain, high temperatures will rise to the 50s by this evening, a freezing rain advisory is in effect for this morning for the Poconos and Northwest New Jersey.  Around 1 inch of well needed rainfall is expected.

Conditions dry out on Friday and it will be windy and cool as high pressure builds into the area.

The weekend will be milder with highs both days in the 60s, Saturday will be dry but weak disturbance will likely give us some rain Sunday afternoon and evening.

Halloween should be dry and pleasantly cool.  Milder Tuesday and Wednesday with mainly dry conditions prevailing.

 

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – Rain developing this morning possibly beginning as a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain, high temperatures rising to the low 50s by this evening.

TONIGHT – Rain till around midnight then clearing, lows in the mid 40s.

FRIDAY – Mostly sunny and breezy, high in the mid 50s.

SATURDAY – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 60s.

SUNDAY – Mostly cloudy with rain likely in the afternoon and evening, high in the mid 60s.

HALLOWEEN – Sunny, high in the upper 50s.

TUESDAY – Mostly sunny, high in the low 60s.

WEDNESDAY – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 60s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  TODAY – Southeast wind to 15 knots, seas 1-2 feet.  Small craft advisory will be in effect from 4 p.m. this afternoon till 6 p.m. on Friday evening.

OUTLOOK – Possible advisories for Saturday with no advisories expected Sunday and Monday.
