Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Sunday morning and tempertures range from the upper 30s here in Clifton to around 30 further inland, winds are gusting to 25 mph from the west.

A strong cold front came through last night and low pressure developed on the front bringing in much colder air, precipitation changed to all snow and here in Clifton we got a dusting of around 1/2″ on colder surfaces, however some inland areas got much more snow overnight with 4.5″ reported in West Milford and up to 10″ in Highland Lakes.

Today we will be cold and blustery with occasional rain and or snow showers through this evening, wind gusts of over 45 MPH are possible and a wind advisory is in effect.

Continued chilly with strong winds only slowly diminishing Monday and Tuesday, skies will be partly cloudy.

Somewhat milder on Wednesday with plenty of sunshine and much lighter winds.

A low pressure system will be approaching from the west on Thanksgiving giving us mostly rain although precipitation may start off as snow well inland.

Dry with seasonable tempertures on Friday.

High pressure will be moving off the coast as a cold front approaches the area, temperatures will be mild during the day today along with mostly sunny skies.  The cold front will cross the area tonight accompanied by some rain showers and followed by a strong northwest flow of much colder air for Sunday.  Scattered rain showers during the day on Sunday with some snow showers possible in the evening especially over inland areas of the Poconos and northwest New Jersey where they could pick up an inch or two of snow over the higher elevations.

High pressure will be in control of our weather today and on Friday continuing the mild temperatures along with mostly fair skies.

A cold front will approach on Saturday, it will still be mild ahead of the front, this front will cause some showers late Saturday night.

The cold front will be east of the area on Sunday with much colder air moving in on strong northwest winds, there is a chance of showers continuing with snow showers possible over inland areas, winds may gust to 40 mph to make it feel colder.

Chilly conditions will continue into early next week as high pressure builds into the area, winds will slowly diminish.

Skies are mostly clear early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures range from the low 40s in the Clifton area to the mid 30s further inland, winds are light.

Yesterday’s forecast called for only about 1/4″ of rainfall but the coastal storm came closer to our area and intensified dumping 1.88″ of well needed rain, in fact Newark had a daily rainfall record of 2.79″ causing some flooding.

High pressure will build into the area today and be with us through Friday giving us mostly sunny days with mild temperatures with highs mostly in the low 60s.

A cold front will approach the area on Saturday which will give us some increasing cloudiness and some rain showers developing late at night.

Much colder and windy on Sunday along with a chance of rain showers continuing and as colder air moves in the rain may turn into snow showers in the evening.

High pressure will then dominate the weather Monday through Wednesday along with chilly temperatures.

At this point models are indicating a possible rain storm for Thanksgiving Day.

Rain has begun in the Clifton area and areas to the east while inland areas are still just cloudy, temperatures range from the upper 40s in the Clifton area to the low 40s inland, winds are light.

Today we will have rain into this afternoon expect around 1/4 of an inch of rain in Clifton, again with more to the east and less to our west, temperatures with the cloud and rain will be mostly in the low to mid 50s.

High pressure will build into the area on Wednesday and will give us milder air along with dry conditions through the early part of next weekend.

A cold front will approach the area on Saturday and cause precipitation to move into the area Saturday night, also an ocean storm to our east may enhance the precipitation on Sunday and with colder air moving in there is a chance of some snow or snow showers Sunday evening.

Today we will have mostly sunny skies and high temperatures will be around ten degrees higher than yesterday.

Tonight will be clear which will give us a good view of the super supermoon as this full moon will be the closest to Earth since 1948.

Another nice day on Monday with mild temperatures.

A weak coastal low will give us a chance of rain late Monday night into Tuesday morning, at this time we are expected less than 1/4″ of rainfall with more along coastal sections and less inland.

Dry weather with above normal temperatures Wednesday through the beginning of next weekend with some readings close to 70 degrees possible Friday and Saturday.

Looking ahead to the longer range it appears now next week will be colder and stormier.

A cold front will move through our area this morning, temperatures will reach to near 60 by noon but colder air will be rushing in on strong northwest winds, temperatures should fall off to near 50 by late this afternoon.

Some of the coldest air of the season will be with us tonight into tomorrow, temperatures will fall tonight to the freezing mark in the Clifton area to the 20s inland and highs on Saturday will be only near 50 but with plenty of sunshine and lighter winds.

Sunday will be a nice fall day with sunshine and milder temperatures.

This coming week we should see temperatures at or slightly above normal, a storm system may form off the coast giving us a chance of rain Tuesday night into Wednesday.
