Another hot and dry day today! Quite warm and humid on Friday with late day showers and thunderstorms!


Good morning everyone!

Skies are mostly clear early this morning and temperatures are warm with readings ranging from the low 70s in Clifton to the mid 60s further inland, the humidity is high with dew points around 70.

Weak high pressure will give us a westerly flow of hot air along with plenty of sunshine today, high temperatures will reach the low 90s, the humidity will lower a bit with dew points this afternoon in the mid 60s.

After a warm and muggy night tonight Friday will be another quite warm day with increasing humidity as dew points rise into the oppressive 70s.   A front approaching from the west will likely give us some showers and thunderstorms mainly after 4  p.m., some of the storms may be accompanied by heavy rain.

The front will cross the area on Saturday giving us a lingering chance of showers during the day.

Very pleasant late summer weather Sunday and Monday as high pressure builds into the area, we should see plenty of sunshine along with pleasant temperatures and lower humidity.

Shower chances return for late Tuesday into Wednesday as a warm front moves to our north followed by a cold front crossing the area on Wednesday.

TONIGHT – Partly cloudy, low in the low 70s.

FRIDAY – AUG 17 – Increasing cloudiness with showers and thunderstorms likely mainly after 4 p.m, humid with highs near 90.

SATURDAY – AUG 18 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the upper 80s.

SUNDAY – AUG 19 – Partly sunny, cooler and less humid, high in the upper 70s.

MONDAY – AUG 20 – Mostly sunny, high near 80.

TUESDAY – AUG 21 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 80s, chance of showers and thunderstorms at night.

WEDNESDAY – AUG 22 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the low 80s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  TODAY – West-southwest wind to 8 knots, seas 1 foot.  Belmar’s ocean temperature is 77 degrees.

OUTLOOK – Possible small craft conditions Friday and Friday night; no advisories expected during the day on Saturday;  possible small craft conditions Saturday night through Sunday night; no advisories expected on Monday.
