Warm and humid with more showers and thunderstorms likely today! Cooler on Sunday but still a chance of showers!


Good morning everyone!

Skies are cloudy early this morning and there are some showers moving through our area, temperatures range from the low 70s in the Clifton area down to upper 60s further inland, winds are mainly calm and the humidity is high with dew points in the low 70s.   Nearly two inches of rain has fallen since yesterday evening.

Today will be a mostly cloudy and warm and humid day with showers and thunderstorms likely, some storms may again be accompanied by heavy rain and a flood watch continues in effect.  A cold front will cross the area tonight.

Sunday will be cooler but still a chance of a lingering shower especially to our south as the cold front moves very slowly to our south.

Monday looks to be a dry day with comfortable temperatures and humidity as high pressure builds into the area.

More showers are likely late Tuesday into Wednesday as a warm front followed by a cold front swings through the area.

Dry weather with comfortable temperatures and humidity Thursday and Friday as another  high pressure will dominate our weather.

 

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – AUG 18 – Mostly cloudy and humid with showers and thunderstorms likely, rain may be heavy at times, high in the upper 80s.  A flash flood watch is in effect.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely mainly in the evening, heavy rain possible, low in the upper 60s.

SUNDAY – AUG 19 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, cooler, high in the upper 70s.

MONDAY – AUG 20 – Mostly cloudy early then becoming partly sunny, high in the upper 70s.

TUESDAY – AUG 21 – Partly sunny with a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, high near 80.

WEDNESDAY – AUG 22 – Mostly cloudy in the morning with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, partly sunny in the afternoon, high in the mid 80s.

THURSDAY – AUG 23 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 80s.

FRIDAY – AUG 24 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 80s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  TODAY – Southwest wind to 9 knots, seas 1-2 feet.  Belmar’s ocean temperature is 77 degrees.

OUTLOOK – Possible small craft conditions on Sunday; no advisories expected Monday through Wednesday.
