High pressure building in from the northwest will give our area a mostly sunny day but very cold with temperatures with highs only in the 20s with a brisk northwest wind.

Today we will see some sunshine but a polar cold front will cross the area this afternoon possibly giving the area a brief snow shower or squall that may give us a quick dusting of snow. The front will be followed by a strong northwest flow of much colder air for tonight into Thursday. Temperatures will fall well down into the teens with wind chills below zero by early tomorrow morning. High temperatures on Thursday will only be in the 20s, the winds will diminish by late in the day.

A long stretch of dry weather is expected Friday through at least through early next week with a slow warming trend.

A low pressure over Kentucky early this morning will move northeast and be off the coast by tonight, the storm will cause freezing rain this morning changing to plain rain later this morning and continuing into the afternoon before ending early this evening, ice accumulations of 1/10 of an inch is possible before changing to rain.

Clearing on Wednesday but a cold front may cause some flurries in the afternoon, the front will be followed by much colder air Wednesday night into Thursday with the coldest temperatures of the season likely, winds will be strong Wednesday night into Thursday morning then diminishing.

Dry weather with a slow moderation in temperatures Friday through the weekend.

Latest indications are that next week will be milder with no threats of any significant storms.

A storm system will be moving towards our area today and it will become cloudy, at this time only some flurries are expected during the day today. The heaviest precipitation will be later tonight with snow, sleet and freezing rain, accumulations of frozen precipitation will be between 1-3 inches. During the day on Tuesday most of the precipitation will change to rain but mixed precipitation will still be likely just to our north and west. Tomorrow’s morning commute may be hazardous. The low pressure that gave us rain the past two days has moved up to eastern Canada while high pressure builds from the west. Today will be a mostly sunny day but windy with gusts up to 35 mph. Temperatures will be slightly above normal.

Another low pressure system will affect our area Monday afternoon through Tuesday, light snow will develop in the afternoon and then mix with freezing rain and sleet by evening and then to all rain on Tuesday. Very tricky forecast with snow and ice amounts depends on the exact track of the low pressure. At the present time around 1 inch of snow is possible before mixing with sleet and freezing rain, ice amounts may be significant especially further inland. The precipitation is expected to end Tuesday afternoon.

Dry weather but cold Wednesday into next weekend with Thursday being the coldest day with high temperatures staying below freezing.

Another storm system will affect the area Monday afternoon through Tuesday. A wintery mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain Monday afternoon and evening will change to all rain by Tuesday morning. Possible accumulations of less than one inch of snow and sleet before the change over to rain.

Rain is likely by this afternoon that may start off briefly as snow to our north and west. Rain tonight with the heaviest rain falling between 1 a.m and 7 a.m. Saturday morning. Rain will then taper off to showers in the afternoon and evening. Total rainfall will be between 1 and 1 1/2 inches.

Clearing on Sunday but it will be breezy with near normal temperatures.

The next storm system will likely give us precipitation Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning, a wintery mix is possible Monday afternoon and evening changing to rain Monday night and ending Tuesday morning.
