Partly sunny, breezy and a little cooler on this New Year’s Day! Milder on Thursday! Rain and mild Friday through Saturday! Dry and cooler on Sunday!

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this first day of 2020 and there are some flurries or light sprinkles in parts of the area, temperatures range from the mid 30s in Clifton down to the upper 20s further inland, winds are a little brisk out of the west.

Low pressure will be moving further off the Maine coast as high pressure builds into the area from the southwest, a brisk westerly flow of seasonably cool air can be expected today. Skies will be mostly cloudy early this morning with a low chance of a sprinkle or flurry, partly sunny conditions are likely this afternoon.

Thursday will be milder as a southwest flow around the high to our south, skies will be sunny.

A low pressure system will bring us precipitation Friday into Saturday but it will all fall as rain as mild air continues in our area.

Sunday through early next week should be dry with cooler temperatures.

SATURDAY – JAN 4 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain, high in the low 50s.

SUNDAY – JAN 5 – Partly sunny, breezy and cooler, high in the low 40s.

MONDAY – JAN 6 – Partly sunny, high in the low 40s.

TUESDAY – JAN 7 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 40s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 1 a.m. Thursday morning for westerly winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 4-7 feet.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Thursday through Friday night; possible small craft advisories during the day on Saturday; advisories expected Saturday night through Sunday.
