Cloudy and chilly with a some light rain likely today! Sunny and milder on Tuesday! More rain Wednesday afternoon through Friday!


Good morning!

Skies are cloudy early on this Monday morning and there are some light showers in parts of the area, temperatures range from near 40 in Clifton down to the mid 30s further inland, winds are from the north.

The low pressure responsible for the rain yesterday has moved offshore southeast of Cape Cod but a cyclonic flow will keep clouds around with quite cool temperatures. Some light rain is likely especially this afternoon but rainfall amounts will be light with only a few hundreds of an inch expected.

High pressure will then build into the area on Tuesday giving us sunny skies with milder temperatures.

Another storm system will again give us rain Wednesday afternoon through Thursday tapering off to showers on Friday, rainfall amounts will be around an inch. Temperatures will be not as chilly as yesterday and today.

At this point the weekend looks dry with near or slightly above normal temperatures.

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – APR 27 – Cloudy with a chance of light rain this morning then light rain likely in the afternoon, high near 50.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy in the evening then partly cloudy after midnight, low in the upper 30s.

TUESDAY – APR 28 – Sunny, high in the low 60s.

WEDNESDAY – APR 29 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of light rain in the afternoon, high in the upper 50s. showers at night.

THURSDAY – APR 30 – Cloudy with showers, high near 60.

FRIDAY – MAY 1 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high in the low 50s.

SATURDAY – MAY 2 – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 60s.

SUNDAY – MAY 3 – Partly sunny, high near 70.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 10 p.m tonight for northerly winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 4-6 feet.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected for Tuesday; advisories expected Wednesday and Thursday; possible advisories for high seas on Friday.
