Cooler today with some showers this morning! Mostly sunny and warmer on Saturday! More humid on Sunday with a good chance of showers and thunderstorms. Hurricane Isaias may affect our area early next week!


Good morning!

Skies are cloudy early on this Friday morning and there are some light showers in part of the area. Temperatures range from near 70 in Clifton down to the low 60s further inland. Winds are mainly calm and the humidity is high with dew points mainly in the upper 60s.

Overnight rain in Clifton measured .05″ but areas around the Edison and Woodbridge area had very heavy rain with some flash flooding.

A front in our area this morning will slide to our south today and we will have mainly cloudy skies this morning with some light showers with partial clearing late in the day. Temperatures will only be around 80 which is more than 10 degrees cooler than yesterday. The humidity will remain moderate with dew points in the 60s.

Saturday will be the nicest day of this weekend with plenty of sunshine and seasonably warm temperatures and continued moderate humidity.

The front to our south will move back into our area as a warm front on Sunday which will produce more humid conditions along with a good chance of showers and thunderstorms some of which may be heavy.

Very unsettled weather Monday through Wednesday as a trough of low pressure will be along the coast and Hurricane Isaias that will be moving up the east coast. Too early for details but some heavy rain and some wind is possible in our area, so stay tuned.

Fair weather should return by later next week with seasonable warm temperatures.

TUESDAY – AUG 4 – Mostly cloudy and humid with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the mid 80s.

WEDNESDAY – AUG 5 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the upper 80s.

THURSDAY – AUG 6 – Partly sunny, high in the upper 80s.

MARINE FORECAST: TODAY – Northeast winds to 10 knots, seas 1 foot. Point Pleasant Beach’s ocean temperature is 79 degrees.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Saturday and Sunday. Possible advisories early next week as Hurricane Isaias moves up the coast.
