Light rain ending this morning then becoming mostly sunny this afternoon and mild! Much colder and very windy tonight into Tuesday! Mainly dry weather to continue Wednesday through the weekend!

Skies are cloudy early on this Monday morning and there is some light rain or drizzle falling. Temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 38 in Clifton down to 34 at High Point, winds are light northerly.

The low pressure that gave us the rain will be moving offshore and the rain and drizzle should end before noon. Sunshine will return this afternoon and it will be seasonably mild with highs near 50. A cold front will come through the area this evening followed by a strong northwest flow of much colder air. Winds may gust up to 47 mph tonight and a wind advisory is in effect.

Tuesday will be a cold day with highs only in the 30s and with gusty winds it will feel even colder but winds should diminsh by late in the day.

Much milder on Wednesday along with mostly sunny skies as high pressure builds into the area.

Dry but chilly weather is expected Thursday through the weekend.

TONIGHT – Mostly clear, very windy and much colder, low near 20. Wind gusts to 47 mph possible.

TUESDAY – MAR 2 – Sunny, windy and cold, high in the upper 30s, winds gusting to 40 mph in the morning diminishing in the afternoon.

WEDNESDAY – MAR 3 – Sunny and milder, high in the low 50s.

THURSDAY – MAR 4 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 40s.

FRIDAY – MAR 5 – Sunny, high near 40.

SATURDAY – MAR 6 – Mostly sunny, high near 40.

SUNDAY – MAR 7 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 40s.

MARINE FORECAST: A gale warning will be in effect from 4 p.m. this afternoon until 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon for northwest winds gusting to 45 knots, seas 3-6 feet.

OUTLOOK – Small craft advisories expected to continue Tuesday afternoon; no advisories expected for Tuesday night through Wednesday night; advisories possible Thursday and Friday.
