Cloudy and mild with showers developing by mid-afternoon! Colder on Thursday with showers ending by the afternoon! Dry and quite chilly on Friday! Mainly dry with moderating temperatures over the weekend!

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. were mainly in the mid 40s, winds are calm or light southeasterly.

A frontal system approaching from the west will give us cloudy skies and it will be mild as winds will be southerly. Showers with the system will develop mainly after 3 p.m. with heavier showers and possibly a thunderstorm tonight.

The cold front with the system will come through late tonight and colder air will filter into our area on Thursday. Some showers will continue to early afternoon that may mix with snow across the higher elevations of extreme northwest New Jersey. Total rainfall amounts will average between 1 and 1 1/2″

Friday will be a mostly cloudy day and it will be breezy and unseasonably cold with overnight lows in the 20s and only rise to the low 40s during the day.

The weekend will be mainly dry except for a low chance of showers Saturday night. Temperatures will moderate with highs in the 50s on Saturday and into the 60s on Easter Sunday.

Mild weather to continue into early next week along with dry conditions.

FRIDAY – APR 2 – Mostly cloudy, breezy and chilly, high only in the low 40s.

SATURDAY – APR 3 – Sunny, high in the mid 50s, chance of showers at night.

EASTER SUNDAY – APR 4 – Partly sunny, high in the low 60s.

MONDAY – APR 5 – Sunny, high in the low 60s.

TUESDAY – APR 6 – Sunny, high in the upper 60s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Thursday evening for southerly winds becoming northwest tonight and gust to 30 knots, seas 3-6 feet.

OUTLOOK – Small craft advisories expected to continue Thursday night through Friday night; no advisories expected Saturday or Sunday.
