Sunny and seasonably cold today with diminishing winds! A chance of rain showers on Wednesday possibly beginning as a wintery mix! Dry and seasonably cold on Thursday! Snow likely on Friday!

Good morning everyone!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures are the coldest so far this season with temperatures at 5 a.m. ranging from 17 in Clifton down to 9 at High Point. Winds are a little gusty out of the northwest.

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR JANUARY 4TH:

AVERAGE HIGH: 37 AVERAGE LOW: 22

RECORD HIGH: 65 – 2000 RECORD LOW: 1 – 1981

YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 34 LOW: 21 PRECIPITATION: NONE

The storm that gave southern New Jersey up to a foot of snow and not even a flake here has moved well offshore and high pressure is building into our area. Today we will finally have a sunny day and it will be cold but with diminishing winds by this afternoon so it will not feel as harsh as yesterday.

A weak disturbance will give us a chance of mainly rain showers on Wednesday that may be mixed with freezing rain early in the morning. High temperatures will rise into the 40s.

Weak high pressure on Thursday will give us dry conditions with seasonably cold temperatures.

Friday a storm system will likely give us snow mainly Friday morning and at this time accumulations look to be on the light side with 1-3 inches possible, however the storm is three days away so those amounts may be changed.

After a dry Saturday another low pressure may give us rain on Sunday possibly beginning as snow.

Dry and quite cold weather early next week.
