Mostly sunny and seasonably cold today! Snow Friday morning with possible accumulations of 3-5 inches! Dry and cold on Saturday! A little milder on Sunday with a chance of showers!


Skies are mostly clear early on this Thursday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 34 in Clifton down to 22 at Walpack, winds are light from the west.

After yesterday morning’s freezing rain that caused hundreds of accidents, this morning is much quieter weather-wise with mostly clear skies. A cold front will cross the area this morning and it will come through dry, but temperatures will not rise much from our present temperatures despite plenty of sunshine with highs mainly in the upper 30s. We should see an increase in clouds as the next system approaches from the west.

Snow Friday morning should accumulate 3-5 inches mainly falling from 2-8 a.m. We should see some clearing in the afternoon but it will be breezy and chilly.

Saturday will be a dry but cold day.

Another cold front will cross the area on Sunday preceded by showers that may begin as a mixture of snow in the morning.

Quite chilly but dry Monday through Wednesday with Tuesday being the coldest day with highs only in the 20s.

TONIGHT – Becoming cloudy with snow beginning around 2 a.m. low in the mid 20s.

FRIDAY – JAN 7 – Snow ending around 8 a.m. then becoming mostly sunny by the afternoon, high in the mid 30s. Total snow accumulation 3-5 inches.

SATURDAY – JAN 8 – Sunny, high in the low 30s.

SUNDAY – JAN 9 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow showers in the morning then a chance of rain showers in the afternoon, high near 40.

MONDAY – JAN 10 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 30s.

TUESDAY – JAN 11 – Sunny and quite cold, high only in the mid 20s.

WEDNESDAY – JAN 12 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 30s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect till noon today for westerly winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 3-5 feet. winds and seas diminishing in the afternoon.

OUTLOOK – A gale warning as been posted effective between 6 a.m. Friday morning until 10 p.m. Friday night; possible small craft advisories Saturday morning then below advisories levels Saturday afternoon through Saturday night; advisories probable Sunday and Monday.
