Skies are partly cloudy early on this Monday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 31 in Clifton down to 23 at High Point. Winds are gusty out of the west-northwest.

Luckily we did not have any freezing rain in our area yesterday morning as temperatures went above freezing before the precipitation began in the late afternoon.

A cold front came through early this morning and a brisk northwest flow of colder air is moving in. Temperatures in the low 30s early this morning will fall to the 20s during the day despite mostly sunny skies.

The coldest air of the season is likely tonight through Wednesday morning but we should remain dry. Early morning lows both Tuesday and Wednesday morning will be in the low teens with single digits further inland. Temperatures moderate Wednesday afternoon with continued mostly sunny skies.

Dry weather Thursday and Friday with temperatures slightly above normal on Thursday and near normal on Friday.

The weekend weather looks to be unsettled and chilly with a chance of snow.

FRIDAY – JAN 14 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 30s.

SATURDAY – JAN 15 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow, high near 30.

SUNDAY – JAN 16 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow, high in the low 30s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. this evening for northwest winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 4-6 feet.

OUTLOOK – A gale watch has been posted effective tonight through Tuesday morning; small craft advisories expected Tuesday through Tuesday night; no advisories expected Wednesday morning; possible advisories Wednesday afternoon; no advisories expected Wednesday night through Saturday.
