Mostly cloudy, warmer and more humid today with showers and thunderstorms mainly from late this afternoon through tonight! Some showers still possible on Saturday but becoming less humid! Sunny and warm on Sunday! Hot and sunny weather expected for Memorial Day!

Skies are cloudy early on this Friday morning and there is some fog in parts of the area. Temperatures are milder than the last couple of mornings with readings at 5 a.m. ranging from 64 in Clifton down to 60 at High Point. Winds are mainly calm or light southerly.

A frontal system will be moving into our area today with a southerly flow of warmer and more humid air. Showers and thunderstorms can be expected mainly from 4-10 p.m. Some of these storms may be severe with strong gusty winds and heavy rainfall.

A cold front will move through the area on Saturday with some showers still possible but most of the day it will remain dry and less humid.

The rest of the holiday weekend will feature sunny skies both days with highs in the low 80s on Sunday and near 90 on Memorial Day.

Very hot on Tuesday with highs well up into the 90s.

TODAY – MAY 27 – Mostly cloudy, warmer and more humid with showers and thunderstorms mainly after 4 p.m., some storms may be accompanied by strong gusty winds and heavy rain, high near 80.

TONIGHT – Cloudy with showers and thunderstorms mainly before 10 p.m., low in the mid 60s.

SATURDAY – MAY 28 – Mostly cloudy in the morning then becoming mostly sunny and less humid with still a chance of a shower or thunderstorm, high near 80.

SUNDAY – MAY 29 – Sunny, high in the low 80s.

MEMORIAL DAY – MAY 30 – Mostly sunny, high near 90.

TUESDAY – MAY 31 – Mostly sunny and very hot, high in the mid 90s.

WEDNESDAY – JUN 1- Mostly sunny, high in the low 80s.

THURSDAY – JUN 2 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, high in the mid 80s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. this morning until 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon for southerly winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 3-5 feet.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Saturday night through Tuesday.
