Increasing clouds today and not as warm but humid with showers late tonight. Finally some well needed rainfall tomorrow into Tuesday! Mainly dry and quite warm Wednesday through the start of next weekend!

Good morning everyone!

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Sunday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 68 in Clifton down to 58 at Walpack. Winds are mainly calm and the dew points are mainly in the low to mid 60s.

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR AUGUST 21ST:

AVERAGE HIGH: 82 AVERAGE LOW 64

RECORD HIGH: 94 – 2009 RECORD LOW: 51 – 2000

YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 91 LOW: 69 PRECIPITATION: .06″

High pressure will be moving offshore and we should see some increase in cloudiness as a slow moving frontal system approaches from the west. With more clouds temperatures will be lower than yesterday but the humidity will be higher with dew points mainly in the upper 60s. Showers and thunderstorms will likely develop mainly after midnight.

The frontal system will give us some well needed rainfall on Monday with showers and thunderstorms, some rain may be heavy at times. Rainfall amounts of around one inch with some higher amounts possible. Highs will be only around 80 but the humidity will be high with dew points near 70.

There may be a lull in the precipitation Tuesday morning but more showers and thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon and evening as the frontal system moves offshore.

High pressure will then build into our area on Wednesday and dominate the weather through at least the start of the weekend. Mainly dry conditions with very warm temperatures and moderate humidity with dew points in the 60s.
