Cloudy and milder today with some showers this morning with heavier rain this afternoon through early Friday morning! Some clearing Friday by the afternoon! Dry and seasonably cool weather for the weekend! Mild again most of next week with a low chance of a shower on Tuesday!

Skies are cloudy early on this Thursday morning and early temperatures range from 36 in Clifton down to 30 at High Point. Winds are calm or light easterly. There are some showers falling mainly over inland areas.

A frontal system approaching from the west will cause cloudy skies today, there may be some showers after sunrise but the heavier rain will be later this afternoon through Friday morning. Winds will increase from the southeast possibly gusting to 35 mph. Also there is a chance of a rumble of thunder tonight. Rainfall amounts will be around one inch.

The front will move offshore by Friday morning with partial clearing in the afternoon. Temperatures in the 50s in the morning will fall to the 40s by sunset.

The weekend weather will be dry with near seasonable temperatures.

Mild again next week with a low chance of light rain on Tuesday as a weak system moves through the area.

SATURDAY – JAN 14 – Mostly sunny, breezy and cooler, high near 40.

SUNDAY – JAN 15 – Sunny, high in the mid 40s.

OUTLOOK: A gale warning has been posted effective between 6 p.m. this evening through 6 a.m. Friday morning; advisories likely Saturday and Sunday; no advisories expected for Monday and Tuesday.
