Skies are mostly cloudy to cloudy early on this Friday morning and temperatures are unseasonably mild with early readings ranging from 54 in Clifton down to 50 at High Point. Winds are from the south-southwest averaging 5-10 mph.

The frontal system that gave us the rain yesterday will be moving offshore by this afternoon. Mild this morning with most showers ending by 10 a.m. The cold front associated with this system will move through our area this afternoon followed by slow clearing with temperatures falling to the 40s by sunset. Winds will become northerly tonight and will be gusting at times to 25 mph.

Colder over the weekend but still near normal for the middle of January. Northerly winds will continue to gust to 25 mph.

Next week will again be mild with a low chance of rain Tuesday afternoon as a weak frontal system moves through the are. A stronger low pressure will likely give us rain on Thursday.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy, breezy and colder, low near 30.

SATURDAY – JAN 14 – Mostly sunny and breezy, high near 40.

SUNDAY – JAN 15 – Sunny and breezy, high in the low 40s.

TUESDAY – JAN 17 – Partly sunny in the morning then mostly cloudy by the afternoon with a chance of showers, high in the upper 40s.

WEDNESDAY – JAN 18 – Partly sunny, high in the low 50s.

THURSDAY – JAN 19 – Mostly cloudy with rain likely possibly beginning as a mixture of snow in the morning, high near 50.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Saturday evening for northwest winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 6-9 feet.

OUTLOOK: Small craft advisories likely on Sunday with some gale gusts possible; small craft advisories likely to continue on Monday; no advisories expected for Tuesday.
